Hands-on, messy and physical — his practice is driven by instinct, curiosity and a fascination towards material transformation. Mattia bridges mythology, architecture, and personal memory—building layer by layer with pigment, plaster and concrete.
Originally from Florence, Italy, he grew up surrounded by centuries-old churches, crumbling stone walls and Catholic iconography. This influence echoes through the weathered ruins and imaginary altars in his large-scale reliefs, sculptural paintings.
