The BFA Visual and Critical Studies Department is pleased to present One Foot Forward, an exhibition of works by its graduating class. The exhibition will run from April 27 to May 6, and the reception will be held on Thursday April 30, 6 to 8pm, simultaneous with the VCS Open Studios on the 4th floor of 133 West 21 Street.
For this exhibit, each VCS Senior was given a one foot square birch panel to interpret the idea of ‘one foot (step) forward,’ in a manner appropriate to their practice. Participating artist Lucy Rosa Blanca will also perform “With One Foot Forward, Como La Flor Was Performed 3 Years Ago, I Mean To Say Thank You All For Being Here,” at 7pm in the Flatiron Project Space Gallery.
This exhibition was organized by Peter Hristoff (BFA Fine Arts, SVA ’81) and the students, faculty and staff of VCS.
The department’s annual Hands Off My Books IV book sale is still accepting donations as well! Friendly reminder that proceeds will be sent to PEN America to fight book bans and attacks on libraries here in the US.
