Sport Sense High School League — Tournament 2! 🏀🔥 It was great to welcome schools back for the second instalment of the Sport Sense High School League… and all I can say is, teams came READY to ball out. The intensity was up. The emotions were high. The passion was real And we love to see it , because that’s what competition is about. Across the day, you could feel the edge, the hunger, the desire to win… but just as importantly, outside the lines of the court we saw community, sportsmanship, unity, and respect — everything this league stands for. Teams knew what they were stepping into this time, and you could see the preparation. The level has gone up already… and we’re only getting started. Huge congratulations to our tournament winners @westbourne.pe 🏆 — dominant from start to finish, showing real quality and composure throughout. Massive thank you to all the coaches and players for bringing the energy and giving it your all. Big appreciation to our helpers from @suffolknewcollege — your support on the day doesn’t go unnoticed. ICE IN THE VEINS 🧊🏀 A look back at last Thursday & Friday’s Ice in the Veins camp. The focus was simple — learning how to stay composed when the game speeds up. When legs are tired, decisions matter, and pressure shows up. Pressure is part of the game — and the more you understand it, the more confident you become in those moments. Big up every player who came through ready to work and challenge themselves. The growth across just two days was real — more confidence, better communication, and players stepping into moments instead of shying away from them. It’s always a pleasure to connect with ballers from across Ipswich — different teams, different schools, all coming together in one gym. It’s always a vibe. The environment is special when we come together, and that’s something we look forward to continuing. Introducing the Sport Sense High School Basketball League 🏀 This is an initiative very close to my heart ❤️ Growing up in Ipswich, I dreamed of a local basketball league where schools could face off against each other, compete for bragging rights and prove themselves on the hardwood. I wanted something that brought real pride to wearing your school colours, something to train for, talk about, and remember. But this is about more than competition. It’s about providing young people with a platform to play, compete, and belong. Giving our hoopers something to cultivate and be part of. Our hope is that our league can provide that spark, give that dream fuel, and create realistic opportunities for young people to grow, both on and off the court. We want to do our part to help raise the overall level of grassroots basketball here in Suffolk, and this league is an important step on that journey. Our league will run across the academic year, providing termly opportunities for schools to compete and connect. If you are a school in Ipswich and want to be involved in our next tournament, get in touch! Alongside the league, we were also able to provide work experience opportunities for students at @suffolknewcollege , aligned with their courses and offering real-life work experience — ranging from officiating and media, to event support, planning, and logistics. Huge thank you to everyone who helped bring this together, it truly was a real community effort.
