‘Atomic Doom’, 2026, Ink, Acrylic, Coloured Pencil, Alcohol Marker, Alcohol on Paper, 420mm x 297mm
320 Individual drawings. 1.5 years. The third and final piece for my 4 year long FRUCTOSE series is done. These series of work mark hundreds and hundreds of hours locked away on long weekends and nights, on days off and on, trying to exert a feeling of saturation - of graphic culture, a state between what illustration and fine art is. I love an outsider art approach and I’m tired of not feeling it’s valid because contemporary art is infatuated with high taste. Making it was always about swarming the senses. Pissing off optics and sending it into overdrive. Tearing into the media and culture of mass, mediating it with intricacy and prolonged attention that it isn’t designed for. Don’t eat the rich, you consume enough of their products already.
These pieces will only ever be a fragment of a world, one built in youth that evolves into adult life where it is shelved for monotonous consumption in passive states. Instagram will compress this artwork, it will catch it in the downpour of a feed and crunch it into data. But we still make. Who the fuck knows what’s next. I’m getting away from these drawings (or maps of neurological activity) for some time. Pursuit awaits in new mediums!!! Ta.

Microorganism I, 2025.
An evolution; beginning with a drawn circle. Each step modified the preceding shape bit by bit, through iterative steps this totemic creature resulted.

Fictitious Reality 3/3
THE ARTIST
-
Nomadic scientists established the provinence of Talhorn City in 1763, after a biology expedition led to the discovery of the Opal Shade Cactus (Opalillia Cactaceae).
An opioid based plant known for its deep-blue latex and analgesic effects, it is indigenous to the region and found nowhere else on earth. The city was established as a hub for medical industries, led by the Aethen Biomedical Corporation (ABC).
In 1943, Aethen made a pivotal development by refining opal shade resin into Cactyphyne - synthesising one of the most potent and addictive pharmaceuticals on the market. Today, the area is a suburbia stuck in the eye of the storm dealing with the implications of the drug. Crime, addiction and gang activity run rampant, as the black market thrives off Spike - A horrid concoction of Opal shade latex, Cactyphyne and household chemicals. Among the troubled, a young spike-addicted creative uses his insignia to navigate between dependency and protest towards a greedy, corrupted monopoly.
