Happy 91st Anniversary, Town of Surfside 🎉🌴
On May 18, we celebrate 91 years of community, resilience, and coastal charm. Since 1935, Surfside has grown into a welcoming beachside Town rooted in connection, tradition, and hometown pride.
Here’s to honoring our past, celebrating our present, and looking ahead to a bright future together 💙🌊

Join us for our first Paddle For Plastic event this Sunday!
As part of @visitsurfside Paddletopia Weekend, this is your chance to turn a fun day on the water into something that truly matters.
Launch from 96th Street Park on a kayak, paddleboard, or any floating ride, and set out through the canals on a plastic fishing journey.
Along the way, you’ll “fish” for floating plastics and stop at the Plastic Fisherman stations to trade your catch for rewards — from t-shirts to recycled plastic keychains to well-earned popsicles.
🗓️ Sunday, May 17 🕚 10am – 2pm 📍 96th Street Park, Surfside, FL
Every piece you collect helps protect our waterways and becomes part of something bigger, transformed into new products in the Plastic Fisherman workshop.
We bring the buckets, the nets, and energy. You bring your crew, your kayak or SUP, and your sense of adventure.
Let’s go #plasticfishing
A weekend tradition just moments from Ocean House Surfside. The Surfside Farmers Market brings together local flavors, fresh produce, and coastal energy at 96th Street and Collins Avenue, open Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
A seasonal gathering along the shoreline, featuring artisanal finds and morning beach yoga, closing at the end of the month before returning in October.
Explore Ocean House’s luxury destination in Surfside by scheduling an appointment at our development office through the link in bio.

We had a time cruising through China. 🇨🇳 An unforgettable, interactive Lion dance by @southsouljalion put smiles across everyone’s faces! Throughout the evening, @tangtangllc served tanghulu for a sweet treat & @pottermemiami provided stencils for Chinese calligraphy.
Not all heroes wear capes. Some carry paddles. 🛶

Join us. Let’s go #plasticfishing 🎣🛶🗑️
Record day in Surfside, and one we won’t forget anytime soon!
Our Earth Day Plastic Fishing Festival brought it all:
- Record attendance
- 156 pounds of plastic removed from the beach 🗑️
- National Honor Junior Society showing up in full force 💪
- Newly elected Surfside commissioners joining, learning, and becoming part of the movement 💙🌊
And for the first time, we closed the loop on site:
- #plasticfishing themed t-shirts printed live by @sunrei.s
- Plastic from past events turned into sealife-themed keychains by @freeplasticorg
- Sea turtle education by @miamidadeseaturtles and the cutest crochet sea turtles by @valyscraftshop
- Environmental education by @jqfoundation and @globalclimatecrew
From waste to experience.
From experience to story.
From story to change.
Transformation happening right in front of everyone’s eyes. ♻️
But the real impact?
Kids, families, neighbors, all working side by side. The feeling that something bigger is happening here. 💙🌎
Thank you, Surfside Tourism Board members. 🤗 None of this would be possible without your support!
Let’s keep it going, Surfside.
Let’s go plastic fishing! 🎣🗑️
🎥💯 @gabbavisuals
… and thank you @sharkgang.miami for the awesome planet water shot!
First sea turtle nest of the season in Surfside 🐢🌊
As nesting season begins, everyone is asked to help protect these incredible animals and their habitat.
Here’s how to keep turtles safe:
• Turn off or shield outdoor lights at night
• Fill in holes and flatten sand before leaving the beach
• Remove beach furniture, tents and trash
• Keep a safe distance from nesting turtles and marked nests
• Never touch or disturb turtles, hatchlings or nests
If you see a sea turtle in distress, contact @miamidadeseaturtles or call (305) 310-3046.
Let’s work together to keep Surfside’s beaches safe for our sea turtles.
