Weeks posts
Feeling blessed to spend the next seven weeks in a place I’ve dreamed of for a very long time. I’ll be in residence at Instituto Sacatar with six other brilliant artists. Just getting started. My studio overlooks the Bay of All Saints and Salvador beyond. More to come! @sacatar_instituto

We’ve had a busy two weeks since @eleanorjdavidson joined our team (and we couldn’t be any happier!). I’ll have to try to take more pictures this year. This month started with a three day molding workshop with @brittransom_studio and some amazing CMU students, a week working with @visaniroberto making molds and pouring with him and @coral.lambert , a nice visit from our dear @rev._dr._payne , the third annual Intercollegiate Iron pour (thank you to all the old and new friends, we couldn’t have done it without you), special thanks to @emilyallisbaker and her badass GSU students @bluecollar_babushka , @evolutionartstudio , @alfredsculpture , @dylan_ethan_collins , Patti Beachley, @luke_blackley , Gaia, Derek, @mroz_studio , and @kevin_n_stuff with their amazing @uncgartschool students…. And onto the next with an aluminum pour with the Falk School tomorrow. Love and appreciation for everyone involved especially my Carrie Furnaces fam @edparrishjr @macabre_metal @_f.c.o.a._ @artifactmetalworks @davidscottbrozovich . If I didn’t tag you or your crew tag yourself because I’m so happy and tired! Please send us finished pictures of your cast iron sculptures!

Join artist Roberto Visani at the Art Bodega for a presentation and hands-on workshop of his cardboard slave kit project. Visani’s series of cardboard slave kits are digitized sculptural reconstructions and flat-pack DIY kits which depict historical imagery of the enslaved. In this workshop, participants will learn about the conceptual strategies and process involved in the creation of this work and join the artist in building cardboard slave kit, carpeaux blend, a recreation of Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux’s famous sculpture, Why Born Enslaved? Materials and tools will be provided. Saturday, September 13, 6-9 pm 209 East 3rd Street New York, NY 10009
