Spring is springing! In the last few days, we’ve begun to step up the seedlings that are outgrowing their cells, started cleanup in the garden, and planted peas. It’s amazing how much the seedlings have grown. Out in the garden, the garlic is looking great, the rhubarb is filling out, and the hops have returned! We’ll be getting those seedlings outside before we know it. #harvarddivinityschool #seedlings #gardencleanup #garlic #hops #rhubarb #growyourownfood🌱

Remember that winter seed sowing project we started? Guess what? We have seedlings! Half of the jugs are sprouting and even though it’s March and it goes down to the 30s at night, these little guys are doing their thing. And in the garden beds, garlic is up— along with strawberries, rhubarb and herbs. Here we grow!! #harvarddivinityschool #hdsgarden #wintersowing #spring #growyourownfood🌱

Tomorrow— Friday at 10:46 am EDT— spring arrives. It may or may not feel like spring where you are but the earth knows. We balance at the Equinox and plant seeds of intention. Blessed Be!

Snow covers the ground but for the Garden Group, things are stirring. Today, we experimented with winter sowing, which is a method of seed starting that involves empty jugs, a little potting medium and seeds. Lots of seeds need cold stratification though many seeds like this method, too. Today we started two kinds of milkweed, wild bergamot bee balm, kale, poppies, two kinds of basil and cosmos. We took stock of our seeds too. Such joy to get our hands dirty again. Stay tuned for more on this project. #harvarddivinityschool #hds #wintersowing #seeds #gardendreaming #growyourownfood🌱

Autumn Clean-up Day! The crew gathered this morning to clean out beds, pick the last of the produce, save seeds and plant garlic. 🧄 LOTS of garlic. Nothing is better than dirty hands! #garlic #fall #gardencleanup #growyourfood #grateful

A miraculous gathering today in the garden for the Harvest Party. Music, food, ritual and community. Local cheeses and apples. Soup and salsa from the garden. Jam Collective provided the soundtrack “Infinity in a grain of sand and eternity in an hour.” #grateful #harvest #harvarddivinity

A glorious day in the garden as the beans and corn from our Three Sisters project were harvested. Lots of beans are still drying but when all are dried, food will be regifted to those who gave it to us. Grateful for reciprocity. #harvarddivinityschool #threesisters #hunap #reciprocity #harvest
