This will be long.
This synth board has been a work in progress for quite some time. After a lot of exploration and tinkering I believe this setup will be complete with some finishing touches. I still need to find a power supply that can mount to the bottom of the
@templeboards Trio 43, run some audio cables, and find a good USB Hub but the gear is finalized and in its correct place.
- The
@weareelektron Digitakt 2 acts as the sampler/sequencer and the Digitone 2 acts as an excellent FM synth and also main outboard sequencer.
- The
@sequential_llc Prophet 12 desktop is the outboard synthesizer. The main reason I chose this device is because it has bi-timbral patches allowing me to run an A and B output.
- This now takes me to the outboard pedals. The two
@hologram_electronics Microcosm’s will each have A and B from the Prophet running into them and going to the
@meris.us LVX (Channel A) and Mercury X (Channel B). This allows me to have the ambient goodness from the Microcosm’s on each channel from the Prophet and be able to use delay and reverb on either of the paths. Either chain will run into the Digitakt and Digitone. The reason is because I am using Overbridge for the whole setup so that the only thing coming from the board is one power plug and a USB cable running to my computer.
-The
@torsoelectronics is being used as a granular/resonant filter effect box along with its fun sampling. I’ll mostly be running the Prophet X into this for sampling so that I don’t have to lug around the large Prophet X keyboard. P.S. Sequential, PLEASE MAKE A DESKTOP VERSION OF THE PROPHET X.
- The
@lightreft.jp Monolit is mostly being used to mix Ableton tracks but its also has other fun settings.
- It all couples into
@ableton so that this can hopefully be my ultimate hybrid setup. This allows for me to run my favorite hardware gear while utilizing the powerful platform of Ableton Live.
If anybody has recommendations on power supplies, please let me know! This has become my biggest hurdle as its difficult finding a slender enough of one that fits under the board but also allows me to use the Temple Audio modules which makes for a clean and easy run underneath!
