Stills from when we were filming with @raghurai.official for @virtualbharat at Anandpur Sahib during Holla Mohalla.
Shooting alongside a legend, I made a conscious decision to step out of my comfort zone — to study his eye, his process, and let it change mine.
For me, the biggest shift was learning to stop hiding behind the lens. To stop chasing invisibility and instead be present — honestly, visibly present. Sometimes that meant a stare that pulls you into the frame. Sometimes it was simply standing closer, staying longer, waiting without agenda.
But the stare is not a rupture. It’s an invitation. That silent exchange between subject, photographer, and viewer pulls everyone into the same space, the same moment.
Small lessons that go a long way.

Some stories are not told.
They are carved… slowly, patiently, over a lifetime.
Tomorrow, step into the world of Ghulam Nabi Dar, where wood holds memory, and every stroke keeps a legacy alive.
1 day to go.
Naqsh-e-Daur releases tomorrow on YouTube.

Some hands create.
Some hands preserve a civilisation.
In the heart of Kashmir, Ghulam Nabi Dar has spent over six decades carving walnut wood into stories — each motif holding memory, faith, and a way of life that refuses to fade.
*Naqsh-e-Daur: The Story of Ghulam Nabi Dar* is a journey through time, craft, and quiet resilience… where every chisel stroke becomes an act of preservation.
As the world changes, he continues — teaching, shaping, and trusting that the next generation will carry this legacy forward.
Releasing 1st May on YouTube. Stay tuned.
