Thank you to all the venues and presenters who brought us to beautiful BC, to the generous hosts who invited us into their homes, and to everyone who came out to our concerts. ❤️ It’s been lovely to share music, dance, and community with you all over the last 10 days!

Unfortunately due to unforeseen and unprecedented circumstances at the ferry terminal, we’ve had to cancel the last show of our tour at @tir_na_nog_theatre on Bowen Island. Sorry to everyone who bought tickets!
The silver lining: we got our instruments out to pass the time floating on the ferry, and folks gathered to listen to some spontaneous tunes! Looks like we got our last show after all!
Thanks to the passengers for the kind words, and to all the @bcferries staff for working really hard today!

Vinta is teaching a Balfolk fiddle tunes workshop this coming Sunday afternoon from 2-4, presented by the Victoria Fiddle Society. Come learn some traditional dance tunes from France with us!

The VFS is so pleased to host a French Balfolk Fiddle/Other Instruments & Rhythm/Chord Workshop with the band Vinta, on Sunday afternoon, April 12th, from 2:00 - 4:00, to be held at the Cordova Bay 55+ Assoc., 5238 Cordova Bay Rd, Victoria (next door to the elementary school).
The workshop is open to everyone - VFS members and non-members.
Cost for whole workshop: $35 VFS members; $40 non-members.
To register, please send an email to [email protected] (specify either the Fiddle/Other Instruments or Rhythm/Chord sessions and note the instrument you will be playing), along with your payment of either $35 or $40 via e-transfer to: [email protected]

Balfolk is a collection of social dances from France and Western Europe - these dances are fun, simple, and beginner-friendly. We’ll be teaching each dance as we make our way through the evening, so there’s no experience required!
