"Violin, pedals, synthesizers , drums, triggers, pads, cowbells, and metal sheets make up the sonic universe of Los Sara Fontan. Their creative method is rooted in the analog and digital processing of acoustic sound. The artistic practice of Sara Fontan and Edi Pou emerges from improvisation, the embrace of error as a creative opportunity, and the physicality of the body and its sonic extensions as a source of material."
Their latest album 'Consuelo' came out in Feb. 2026.
"Consuelo means consolation, solace, relief. The world is entering a little dark age where authoritarianism is spreading, large technology corporations and their pursuit of profit at all costs mediate every relationship, neocolonialism is rampant in Gaza and other territories, access to a decent life is becoming more difficult while the richest have never been so rich, and addressing the climate crisis is postponed due to short-term interests.
Immersed in this landscape, we seek solace in small communities that challenge the techno-feudalist logic and propose new hopeful solutions. We seek relief in music, and in the human fabric that articulates it, resisting capital's efforts to turn it into a product to be consumed at macro-festivals and in social media reels.
Consuelo is our humble contribution to accompanying those who need it in these times. It is also a celebration of a shared way of doing things, and an invitation to keep going and not give up."

Poster: Ammersooiseplein, Rotterdam. "Representing the last major urban renewal operation in the Agniesebuurt, it replaces the locally prevailing perimeter block with two parallel volumes set at right angles to the railway viaduct stabbing through the area." Built 1984-1988, designed by DKV architects.
