How do you recognise and understand images of protest – from the past, present and future? In collaboration with Viewmaster Projects, Lumière Cinema has recently screened documentaries during the exhibition on the theme of protest. The last in the series can be seen on Sunday 16 November. In addition, Studium Generale is organising discussions and lectures in the coming weeks that will delve deeper into protest movements, among other topics. How does non-violent protest work? Why is one protest movement successful and another not? Why do some peaceful demonstrations sometimes degenerate into violence, and what role does the ruling power play in this process? More information about the context programme can be found via #linkinbio.

Today I visited ViewMasters Protest…
This exhibition couldn’t have come at a more relevant time in our timeline. The former star college has been transformed into a truly immersive, confrontational experience.
As you can see, I don’t have much to say about this exhibition, because what else is there to say? We are against war, we are for peace, and in 24 works, you’ll discover how you are prepared to fight for your rights.
Take your time when you visit. Be prepared; don’t blame yourself if you can’t pause at every work. Let it make you uncomfortable.
The exhibition is still open every Thursday through Sunday from 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM until November 16th. There is also plenty of side programming where you can delve deeper.
