She was from Enugu-Ezike and eventually became the only known female “king” in Igbo history.
Ahebi Ugbabe held political, judicial, and spiritual authority traditionally reserved for men in a deeply patriarchal society.
Her story is not just extraordinary, it is a symbol of resilience, courage, power, and resistance.
