I'm still not sure what I think about #internationalwomensday because it frustrates me that we still need to have one! There are so many incredible humans that I'm proud to call friends and so many inclusive groups that have helped me so much. I want to celebrate you all! So, instead of singling anyone out, here's a clip of me riding one of my favourite types of terrain - steep tech - in Sedona this week. For anyone who feels it's too late or you're too old or you're not represented - you can do it! I'm 48, I am a mum, wife, daughter, friend, small business owner, disabled parent. So many labels. At the bottom of it all, I'm a woman who loves to feel alive and create #pocketsofadventure wherever she can. Thanks @ambalfour72 @ljeffery70 @ginnyglithero @jane8156 for taking my place at home so I can come here and ride 🫶🧡🇺🇲. Thanks @challinorthomas for the 🎥 and having this adventure with me. #wereouthere #mtbfun #mtbwomen #supremebeings #happyplace #gojuliana #myroubion #smithopticsuk #ridemorecarbon #hopewomen #grandcentral

Oh my days, Sweden just keeps getting better. 🇸🇪🧡 Fabulous day hopping between islands on the southern archipelago just outside Gothenburg. 🚲 Cycle routes all the way from Gothenburg out to the ferry at Saltholmen 🗾 3 islands: Styrsö, Donsö and Vrångo explored 🚢 3 ferries and one bridge ☕🦐 Delicious coffee and food ☀️ Wall to wall sunshine All with @ambalfour adventuring with me. Perfect #pocketofadventure. If you're thinking of coming to Sweden, run don't walk! You'll love cycling here. @katie_ould this song is for you 🧡🇸🇪 #fika #brothermehteh #genesiscdf

Oh my days, cycling in Sweden 🇸🇪 does not disappoint! Spoilt for choice with cycle paths in Gothenburg and it doesn't stop when you leave the city #heavenly. Gorgeous ride out to the bathing huts at Horvas today via the nature reserve. Stopped at the best bakery for sarnies, coffee and my first cinnamon bun #fika. 💫 Very special finding a Scout ⚜️ hut at the entrance to the nature reserve. I first came to Sweden in 1989 on a Swedish/German/UK Scout and Girl Guide camp in Norkopping. We spent a week talking youngsters with disabilities sailing ♿⛵. Very happy memories. #explore #pocketsofadventure #freedom

When you see someone like you doing something, you believe you can do it yourself. 💫 We would never have thought that we'd get CeCe to our local climbing wall but after two trips to climb with her friend, Pip (@outdoorsisforeveryone ) CeCe decided that she wanted to try and climb more. 🧗🏼‍♀️ Thanks to Olly @chimeraclimbingcanterbury CeCe has taken her 'climbing bug' and started to make it a reality. Can't wait to see where CeCe is by the time Pip comes to stay in the summer 🧗🏼‍♀️💫 @jackojenny.jj CeCe's dream is to be able to go and hang out at the climbing wall with her friend. 🧡 #inclusion #accessible #outdoorsisforeveryone #learningdisabilities #representation

Being able to share these spaces with CeCe and friends is magical. ♿ 🧡 Inclusion and accessibility doesn't have to be all bells and whistles - it's mainly about being able to do the every day things together. Thank you @jomoseley for your company and capturing this moment on a joyful bike ride in the local woods. #inclusion #access #forestryengland #icetrikes #adventuretrike

This year, the Newnham Park Mashup Enduro lands on International Women’s Day — and we’re celebrating properly. To show that Southern Enduro is serious about inclusion and breaking down barriers in our sport, we’re offering a huge 50% discount for all female riders entering the Mashup Enduro at Newnham Park, Plymouth on 8th March. Code: internationalwomensday Alongside the discount, we’re doubling down on the things that matter: - A genuinely welcoming, supportive atmosphere - Female-only toilets at every event. - And a new optional meet‑up zone before the race, where women can connect, ride together, and head into the day feeling confident and part of a crew. - Female Rider reps. - and much more.... Whether you’re a first‑timer or a seasoned racer, we want you to feel at home on the trails with us. Come ride, have fun, and be part of a community that’s pushing our sport forward. For the ladies that are already signed up for the event we'll contact them individually with a code they can use at another Southern Enduro event. 🌳If you want to know what a gentle 5 mile New Forest social cycle ride looks like - here it is. We call it ‘Ce Ce’s Way’, a fairly flat traffic free route which CeCe particularly enjoys on her recumbent trike. 💦We came well prepared today for the predicted downpours with footwear, waterproofs and goggles but pleased to say no soggy bottoms, just a perfectly made Victoria Sponge (thanks to @Vickybikes ). 🙏🏻With thanks, as always, to all those who join us for the first time as well as those who return for more connection to the Forest, each other and themselves. Next social ride. March 7th. #newforest #gravelbiking

🌱 Change often begins quietly - in small acts, shared spaces, and hands at work. Through mindful mending, Citizen Fridays, and community cinema, this movement keeps growing - not noisily, but through care, craft, and connection. ✨ 🎞️ Screenings - Falmouth x 99p Films Ellie and Mike reunited for a heart-centered screening with 99p Films - a revolutionary CIC turning cinema into shared gatherings with mindful breathing, conversation, and community feasts. 🍦 Perfect for ACTionism - a film that invites people into the story and sparks real talk about what we can do together. 🌱 🌍 Performance Days - Munich Beccy and Gav repped Re-Action at Performance Days, alongside EOCA, POW Europe, and the European Outdoor Group. They even screened ACTionism on the big screen! 🎬 🪡 Mending Mending - Revive & Revolve In Portsmouth, Revive & Revolve have been hosting mindful mending sessions - sharing the art of sashiko and all sorts of beautiful techniques to breathe new life into our gear. 🧵 🌤️ Citizen Friday is Back! It’s collective, citizen-led, and joyfully rebellious. 💥 Every Friday, all year round, we: Share Repair Get out into the fresh air A mighty act of rebellion - and a joyful one. We’ve built community around sewing tables, repair cafés, and muddy walks… and now we’re dreaming bigger. Onto billboards, into public imagination. We are building it collectively! 💫 🚴 CeCe’s Film - “CeCe’s Way” CeCe’s made her very own film with Campaign for Parks! CeCe’s Way: A Story About Cycling in the New Forest shares her joy and freedom as a Ride Leader with New Forest Off Road Club. 🌲 CeCe’s love for cycling and nature shines through - a beautiful portrait of identity, belonging, and joy on two wheels. 💛 Yay!

✨ When imagination takes root, action follows. These stories trace the spark - from handmade flags and reimagined democracy to communities that create before they’re asked to. Together, they remind us: the future is something we build, not wait for. 🌍💚 🏃🏻‍♀️ Kirsty - Green Runners Kirsty made an INCREDIBLE flag for The Green Runners - crafted from discarded festival and corporate event fabrics, transforming waste into bold, joyful installations. So amazing! 💚 🎙️ Ellie + Caroline + Jon - How to Save Democracy Ellie joined Jon and Caroline Lucas at The Conduit for a conversation about nothing less than the future of democracy. 🪜 How can we respond as citizens when governments aren’t stepping up? 🏄‍♀️ Is ACTionism too quiet, or quietly powerful? 🪸 How can collective action stay realistic when people are already stretched thin? Some big, chewy questions! Ellie championed ACTionism as a way to bring people together through joy, reimagination, and deeper collaboration - doing, without waiting for permission. 🌌 🎿 ReSki - Reclaiming the Outdoors, Together What if outdoor gear didn’t come from a boardroom, but from a repair café? 🧵 What if disabled athletes weren’t just consulted, but led the design? ⛷️ ReSki is what happens when community builders, designers, local makers, and adaptive skiers come together - not to tweak the system, but to rebuild it. Born from the ACTionism Weekender, Alice, Mike, Sarisher, and Gav are transforming discarded ski gear into adaptive sit-ski garments - co-designed, tested, and made by the people who use them. 🏔️ Together with repair cafés, adaptive ski schools, and local makers, they’re showing what shared power looks like. 💙 Next stop: Cortina 2026 - the Winter Paralympics! ❄️ 🎧 Vicky on Radio 4 Vicky joined BBC’s Nature Week to talk about the power of the outdoors for our wellbeing 🙌 Through @VickyBikes , she shows how small magic moments outdoors can support sensory regulation, connection, and confidence for children and parents alike. 🌱 You can listen on @bbcsounds - Woman’s Hour, 9 October. Woohoo!
