Launching next Thursday Party people! @thweditions Available soon—a new limited edition by Nicolas Party 💚
The Hepworth Wakefield’s major exhibition, Forbidden Territories, invites visitors to take a journey through 100 years of surreal landscapes and encounter artists such as Salvador Dalí, Lee Miller and Pablo Picasso alongside contemporary artists inspired by Surrealism. In Forbidden Territories, Nicolas Party’s ‘intensely coloured pastel mural of a fairytale forest performs as the backdrop to Max Ernst’s ominous 1927 painting Cage, Forest and Black Sun.’ @guardian   Born in Lausanne in 1980, Party is a figurative painter who has achieved critical admiration for his familiar yet unsettling landscapes, portraits and still lifes that simultaneously celebrate and challenge conventions of representational painting. Party’s work is highly collectable and we are thrilled to be working with him on a limited edition woodcut exclusive to The Hepworth Wakefield to be released later this month.
To register your interest email [email protected] or DM us. Become a Patron to purchase 24 hours before general release and receive an exclusive 10% discount.
The Hepworth Wakefield is a charity and shop purchases support our mission to create exceptional art experiences that enhance everyone’s lives. #NicolasParty #LimitedEdition #ArtistEdition #THWeditions #CollectableArt #Trees #ComingSoon #WoodCut #Surrealism

New edition by Saelia Aparicio for @goldsmithscca . @reposted from@saelia_aparicio .. The title of the edition, “Sheela na gig” refers to the figurative carvings found in medieval churches, which depict a naked women, displaying an exaggerated vulva. Hypothetically of Celtic origin and adopted by the Catholic church, they first appeared in the north of Spain and France in the 10th century, and then in UK and Ireland. Their meaning is uncertain: a talisman to ward off evil spirits, a fertility goddess or a condemnation of lust. Aparicio has re-interpreted the character as a series of mirrors. For the artist, the Sheela na gig is a powerful figure; the figures in the mirrors are all joyful and comfortable in their own skin, the embodiment of big vagina energy. All proceeds go to support @goldsmithscca programme. #merrychristmas #interiordesign #mirror

Personal favourite, beautiful Mohammed Sami print from @whitechapelgallery_editions Just Launched: Mohammed Sami has created 'Still Alive', 2022 especially for Whitechapel Gallery to accompany ‘The London Open 2022’, 30 June – 4 September 2022. Available to purchase now via the website, link in bio! Still Alive, 2022 Digital pigment print with three colour silkscreen and clear glaze onto Hahnemuhle Museum Etching paper, 350gsm 28.8 x 29.5cm Edition of 40, signed and numbered Launch price: £450 inc VAT Members' price: £405 ‘Still Alive’ is the artist’s repeated answer to those who ask him ‘’how are you?’’, since leaving his homeland, Iraq, in 2007. This stock response is often uncomfortable, the sentence evoking both trauma and seemingly celebrating the act of living. Sami's edition relates to a series of paintings of the same name - Still Alive aims to pun the genre of Still Life. In addition, Sami is interested in the contrast between the plants and the unidentified orange tube of pills, as a metaphor for life and death. #MohammedSami #whitechapelgalleryeditions #artisteditions #limitededitions #whitechapelgallery #buyart #ownart #TheLondonOpen2022

New by Joy Labinjo for Art on the Underground, launched today Repost from @ joylabinjo Wash Day, 2021 📷 Andy Keate Digital pigment print with gloss silkscreen glaze onto Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308gsm 49.5 x 70 cm Edition of 40, signed and numbered A special limited edition print to accompany the large scale commission ‘5 more minutes’ also with @artontheunderground . The edition depicts a mother combing her daughter's hair in preparation for washing, and echoes themes around identity and belonging also present in the commission for Brixton. I describe the scene as nostalgic, evoking memories of sitting between her mother's legs as a child. The print is available to purchase on the London transport museum shop website.

It’s been an absolute pleasure to work with @allison.katz on these two editions for Nottingham Contemporary. Both launched today. Repost from @nottm_contemp We are delighted to announce two new limited edition works by Allison Katz are now available! - - Allison Katz, Masking (Profile), 2021 and Masking (Jest) Digital pigment print with paper collage on Hahnemuhle Rice Paper 100gsm and Hahnemuhle Museum Etching 350gsm/ Somerset photo satin 300gsm Each an edtion of 25, signed and numbered Special launch price (per print): £270 Incl. VAT - - Masking (Jest) and Masking (Profile), 2021, each comprise a print reproduced from one of Katz, recent drawings, overlaid with a delicate paper cut-out. This collaged element is inspired by Chinese paper cut outs, which were traditionally affixed to windows at festivals to adorn them, allowed to weather over time and fall off. The titles are a play on the artist’s initials (Ms. Allison Sarah Katz - M.A.S.K.) and also the self-portrait. For Katz the paper mask flutters onto the pre-existing landscape of these drawings, alighting temporarily, These images, already play with games of subjectivity. Noses, head-on or in profile, like masks, can be made to stand in as a surrogate for the whole, imagined identities are doodled or concealed by the edges of the page, a partial view, masked. - - #allisonkatz #artistedition #limitededition #nottinghamcontemporary
