ÜBER GRAVEL BLINDURO
Du wirst nicht wissen, wohin die Strecke führt. Keine Ahnung, wo die Zeitmessungen beginnen, wie lang sie sind oder welches Terrain dich erwartet. Du bekommst eine Rescue-Map – nur für den Fall, dass du die Markierungen verpasst. Auf eines kannst du dich verlassen: Start und Ziel sind im Camp, und diesen absurd fotogenen Felsen namens „der Teufelsarsch“ (ja, wirklich) wirst du ganz sicher nicht verpassen.
Jeder Tag bringt eine neue Strecke von etwa 70 km mit fünf Zeitmessungen. Die Runde ist an beiden Tagen fast identisch – sie wird lediglich in umgekehrter Richtung gefahren. Was du am Samstag hinunterballerst, kurbelst du am Sonntag wieder hinauf. Und umgekehrt.
Das Event findet im Herzen der Tschechische Kanada statt – ein raues kleines Juwel mit allem, was das Gravel-Herz begehrt: Hardpack, Sand, feinen Schotter, grobes Geröll, wurzelige Singletrails sowie ruhige Feld- und Waldwege.
Zwischen den Etappen locker rollen.
Wenn die Uhr läuft, Vollgas.
Das gemeinsame Fahren mit Freunden über das ganze Wochenende ist ein zentraler Teil von dem, was wir tun. Seid ihr als Gruppe von fünf oder mehr unterwegs, bestimmt einen Team Captain, der alle gemeinsam anmeldet.
Alleine oder in einer kleineren Gruppe unterwegs? Kein Problem – du kannst dich auch einzeln in verfügbare Startslots anmelden. Die Startzeiten werden ausgelost, und am zweiten Tag drehen wir die Reihenfolge um.
