freehanded body wrapping blackwork and bird of paradise blooms fanning out on the shoulders to complement, frame, and expand upon some pre-existing ornaments on the chest for Jolaye @ladyjmw , and pay homage to their Jamaican lineage 🌺 a dream project, and always an honor to create art for the body altar. made in two sessions. lines and some areas of black fill 2 days settled in these images.
I would love to make some more projects in this vein! It’s been exciting to combine the contrasting velvety textures of blackwork with delicate and peppery dotwork shading, as well as playing with negative space and skin breaks in compositions.
