Gisteren, op 4 mei, hebben we de officiële Kick-Off gehad van Tula•Verse II: Sœurité. We nemen je mee en we herdenken en nemen een moment om stil te staan bij geschiedenis, de herinneringen en de verhalen die ons vormen.
Met Tula•Verse geloven we dat herdenken ook ruimte mag maken voor perspectieven die minder vaak worden belicht. Verhalen van veerkracht, van strijd voor vrijheid, en van gemeenschappen die generaties lang hebben bijgedragen aan rechtvaardigheid — waaronder die van tot slaaf gemaakte Afrikaanse mensen.
In het bijzonder staan we stil bij de kracht en het vaak onzichtbaar gemaakte verhaal van vrouwen. Hun rol, hun verzet, hun nalatenschap — niet alleen toen, maar wereldwijd en tot op vandaag.
Tula•Verse wil een plek zijn waar deze verhalen gehoord worden. Waar we samen bouwen aan een breder, rijker en inclusiever collectief geheugen.
