In the year 2040, Kadeem Abel is a 17-year-old student from Malvern, who embodies a mix of resilience and vulnerability. He’s characterized by his gentle yet worrisome, calculated and often over-thinking, and sometimes spiteful nature, which drives his determination to defend himself and stand up for others. Kadeem is himself a microcosm of Toronto’s multiculturalism - he is half Tamil and half Rwandan, adding layers to his generational immigrant identity and experience. He works a part-time youth camp counselor in the historically enemy neighbourhood of Galloway.
