‘Beneath the Shimmering it’s Dark Blue’ in @theaterrotterdam Thanks @motelmozaique x @amartefonds ❤️‍🔥 ‘Beneath the shimmering it's dark blue' explores through painting and video how structural violence since the Cold War have influenced (inner) worlds. The two painted banners are inspired by a study of (Western) imperialist propaganda images from the Cold War until now and the visual language of several anti-colonial counter-movements, such as the Organization of Solidarity of the Peoples of Asia, Africa and Latin America (OSPAAAL). The focus of this research is on questioning dominant narratives and how this has shaped people's imaginations, dreams, emotions and world view. Moving on the border between past - present, subjective - objective, personal - societal, this project analyzes contemporary society with an interest in inner experiences haunted by a violent past. Gastrogeografía: “Historias de México a Singapur” Una extensa investigación 📚 sobre las botanas de ambas regiones. A partir de examinar libros de cocina, revistas populares, envases de comida, anuncios y otros materiales impresos, desmenuzamos historias paralelas que existen entre Singapur y México, en particular sus complejas relaciones con el legado colonial y el sincretismo culinario. Este proyecto integra pinturas, platos 🍲 🍽️ esculturas, manteles y otros materiales impresos, junto con contenido de vídeo que fusiona la gastronomía con las mitologías de ambos lugares 🇸🇬🇲🇽 Este proyecto se presenta en @singaporeartmuseum durante @sgbiennale frente al puerto de Tanjong Pagar, un centro histórico de intercambio de productos alimenticios, que simboliza el comercio que conectaba el sudeste asiático con América Latina y Europa.
