💬 Right now, the past, and what’s to come: First off, Wow! I need to say THANK YOU to everyone who joined us Sunday for our bi-annual
@itsalivemarketplace ! What an incredible day!
This month actually marks TEN YEARS I’ve been doing
@theplantbasela events. It all started as #greensaturdayla the first So Cal Vegan Marketplace with
@iamverdilak , which grew to popups in various cities, various events at
@thehawkbar and eventually themed events such as
@vegtoberfestla + Vegan Mardi Gras +
@itsalivemarketplace and night markets at
@threeweavers !
🤗 But this event
@itsalivemarketplace has become my favorite child, and I couldn’t continue to do it without our incredible vendors, our supportive attendees that continue to turn out for us, and of course gracious hosts
@commonspacela and their hard working crew! And much love to badass DJ’s
@theedavebats +
@jak_syn , and my father Rey,
@jai_the_vegan and
@florescent_herbivore for helping me out this weekend,
@cesar.asebedo for MC’ing the costume contest and
@deee_vegan for support and contributing some of the costume contests prizes.
📝 What’s next? Last night so many people asked me when the next event is, and honestly, I don’t know. For the first time in 10 years I have nothing scheduled. To be frank, with the amount of time I spend on events, aside from my day job, and life in general, I’m tired and feel like I need a break. At the same time, I see vegan restaurants, vendors, and other events disappearing quickly before my eyes, and that reminds me that I need to keep going. And I will, but I might take a few weeks to even a couple of months off. Either way, see ya soon! 😬
Thank you for all the love and support,
Mary
