Presenting our research and the work of Giving Me Wings was such an enlightening journey. I’m excited to carry this work forward, sharing it across stages and engaging in conversations about the layers of studying the body as an archive —speaking it into existence, hello! It’s a powerful way to tell our stories and inspire social change.
Giving Me Wings
✨Giving Me Wings is a project that delves into liberation for diaspora women through community building, embodied storytelling, and diasporic performance. I interrogate the importance of what we carry between each generation, as my dancers embody the significance of everything carried and passed through time, and how it makes us the artists we are. ✨
