🏓 Join us for an artist talk with Daniel Hill, Eszter Katalin, Vinko Nino Jaeger, and Christina Werner, moderated by Natascha Bobrowsky!
Wir laden ein zum Artist Talk mit Daniel Hill, Eszter Katalin, Vinko Nino Jaeger und Christina Werner, moderiert von Natascha Bobrowsky! 📅 9. April 2026 🕕 18:00–19:00
🚪Doors open | Einlass ab 17:30 📍 VBKÖ 📚English / Deutsche Drawing on their shared research in the VBKÖ archive, the artists explore the archive as a contradictory structure shaped by power, memory, and exclusion — engaging with queer visibility, historical entanglements, and the possibilities held within gaps, fragments, and uncertainty. @eszter_katalin @studio.danielhill @werner.christina @vinkoninojaeger
Part of the exhibition “Polyphonic Archives, Entangled Voices” and the VBKÖ Archive Residency Program. |

Next Friday, 8 May at 19:00, we invite you to What’s the Tea? #7 at VBKÖ, featuring our first guest of the year: Ford Kelly aka BLAQALIEN @fordkellydreamscapes / @soyfordkelly What’s the Tea? — conceived by Faris Cucchi @fariscucu , Mzamo Nondlwana @jama_supreme and Pêdra Costa @pedraxcosta — is a Trans* and Queer-centered storytelling series that creates space for truth-sharing, creative exchange, and community building. This edition spotlights the visionary practice of Ford Kelly aka BLAQALIEN, an Afrofuturist artist, dreamer, creator, and community organizer based in Berlin. Through their multidisciplinary work, BLAQALIEN conjures expansive imaginaries of Blackness beyond imposed limits, opening portals where joy, play, rage, rest, and curiosity become radical tools for repair, liberation, and collective transformation. As a gender dissident, their artistic universe transforms dreamscapes into political territory, spaces where Black futurity is not only envisioned, but actively lived, defended, and celebrated. From the acclaimed “Afrofuturist Coloring Book” series to “Yeye Finds Magic All Around”, a children’s story rooted in magic and possibility, BLAQALIEN invites us to imagine Blackness as an infinite vessel for memory, resistance, and worlds yet to come. Join us to listen, connect, and stand in solidarity. Free entrance. Accessibility note: the venue has elevator access, but is not fully wheelchair accessible. 🌈 See you at VBKÖ. #viennaartscene #queer #afrofuturism

Water remembers. 🌊✨(German in the first comment) A cura das águas / Water Healing flows into Vienna as a collective act of creation, care, and connection. Led by MAHKU — the Huni Kuin artists’ collective internationally known for monumental works, this 12-meter mural grows through shared gestures, voices, and presence. Guided by spiritual leader Ibã Sales Huni Kuin and artist-curator Kássia Borges, participants enter a process rooted in Huni Meka chants, translated into a living, multimedia visual language. 🎶🎨 Held within the framework of the Wiener Festwochen Republic of Gods, the project unfolds between VBKÖ and the Badeschiff — symbolically bridging urban space with the spirit of the forest. 🌿 This is an invitation to co-create, to learn, and to experience art as healing, a reforesting of the mind, together. 💧 📍 VBKÖ, Maysedergasse 2/28, Vienna 🗓️ May 4 – May 12 ⏰ 9:00–13:00 & 14:00–18:00 🎟️ Free entrance (registration required) Step in. Listen deeply. Create collectively. ✨ #WaterHealing #MAHKU #CollectiveArt #WienerFestwochen

Polyphonic Archive, Entangled Voices ✨ Step into a living archive—where over a century of feminist and queer artistic practices unfold, collide, and reimagine the future. On view until May 2, 2026, VBKÖ celebrates the reopening of its archive with an exhibition that brings together historical materials, contemporary artworks, and research in a dynamic space of exchange. Through installations, video, sound, and performance, seven resident artists engage deeply with the archive—its voices, silences, and tensions—questioning what is preserved and what remains untold. 🎨 Featuring: @pedraxcosta @zoegudovic @danielhill @vinkoninojaeger @eszter_katalin @nouranitahereh @werner.christina + VBKÖ members & collaborators 🧠 Organized by: @georgia_holz @veronika_hoesch @mikaloompa @steph.misa @miwaneg @tsj_ts @juliawieger ⏳ Final days—don’t miss it before it closes! 🕑 Opening hours: Fri & Sat, 2–6 pm A space for dialogue, memory, and collective imagination—connecting past struggles with future possibilities. 📸 Courtesy of © @studio.danielhill #VBKÖ #FeministArt #QueerArchive #viennaartscene
