Sped-through video tutorial of how I repurposed a cheap SHEIN top for a #rougethebat cosplay! I originally bought it to wear as is for a quick closet cosplay of rouge, but I started sewing more recently and figured I could do several little “quick” revisions, which ended up snowballing into more and more stuff I wanted to change until I just made it into a completely different top :)
BASICALLY:
- Google heart SHEIN top, you’ll find the top but any base heart shaped top will do really
- I cut out a heart shaped Eva foam piece to insert and make the top more sturdy and maintain the heart shape
- undo the seams, stuff the EVA foam piece in, and then stuff cotton on top
- Sew shut, sewed over the back pink fabric parts with black fabric
- Once I finished that, I sewed over the hearts pink fabric with a shinier pink fabric that I thought looked nicer
- Sew the fur trim around the edges
- Editing the back fabric again, cut the back in half, sew down edges
- Install eyelets for corsetting string on the back
- Done! (???) (maybe??)
Will be doing another video soon for how I make the boots, and other parts of the cosplay! Not really sure when I’m gonna be debuting this, if I have time I might try to have it ready for either @otakufestfl or @holidaymatsuri this year!!

Been long over due in posting this, but here’s a quick speed video through of how I made the Nomai mask from #OuterWilds !!
Made this completely out of cardboard and EVA foam in 2.5 weeks lol, I used cardboard as the base and layered with foam. Afterwards, I covered everything in black plastidip to prime before painting with acrylics.
Definitely definitely definitely planning on revisiting this to improve the paint job and to flesh out the back of the mask to turn this into a helmet essentially, so far still in love with how this came out :’) #cosplay #cosplayprops #evafoam #outerwildscosplay

As for @animenyc , I’m 10000% coming back next year for my bday since it’s gonna be taking up the entire Javits center and closer to my bday, such an awesome con with lots to do, and AMAZING vendors!
