Last week , we had the opportunity to come together with an incredible group of partners, sponsors, volunteers, and community champions who make so much of our work possible. Celebrating Children Day 2026 was one for the books! 🎉
This past Saturday, we welcomed an estimated 4,000 attendees for a day full of fun, learning, and community connection. From the 1 Mile Fun Run with 1,500 participants to 74 local resources and vendors, this year’s festival was our biggest and most engaging yet!
Together with our partners, we helped raise $34,000 to support important programs and initiatives in our community. 💙

We’re grateful to share that the Virginia Beach Library Foundation has been awarded a 500$ grant from the Virginia Beach Task Force on Aging to support Senior Services programs at Bayside Library.
Our very own Library Branch Program Coordinator, Bria Coles, accepted the award and spoke about the importance of investing in library programs that support and enrich our senior community.
The event was hosted at the @alperinlaw office. We’re incredibly thankful to the Virginia Beach Task Force on Aging for their continued commitment to supporting older adults in our community- and for helping fund the meaningful work happening in our libraries everyday.
Together, we’re creating more opportunities for seniors to connect, learn, and thrive 📚
