35 yr old silly me still in love. Truly, madly, deeply. Out of nearly 2000 motorcycles at EICMA 2025; this was the motorcycle that had me take out my mobile phone. XSR900 GP, you have my heart ā¤ļø

Goa, motorcycles, fun? Usually, thatās a given but today, thereās a reason for the question mark.
For me, Goa has always been a sanctuary, a yearly pilgrimage toward the end of the year when the air turns crisp and the motoring world descends for its festivities. But Goa in April? In the middle of a merciless heatwave? That is a different beast entirely. Yet, the gravity of a first ride for the all-new BMW F450GS is too strong to ignore.I spent nearly 48 hours debating the journey itself. Ride down? Fly in? Punish myself on the highway or preserve energy for the motorcycle that mattered? Eventually, practicality won. Bengaluru to Goa on an aircraft. Forty-five minutes of turbulence later, the doors opened into what felt less like air and more like a warm, damp wall. Thirty-eight degrees. Humidity tuned all the way up. The sort of weather that drains you before youāve even zipped your jacket shut. This wasnāt going to be one of those effortless first rides. A quick check-in, barely any sleep and suddenly I was back among familiar faces from BMW Motorrad, conversations orbiting around the newest GS to wear the badge. Technically, this wasnāt my first meeting with the F450GS.I had already seen it in the flesh at EICMA when the covers first came off and the internet began doing what it does best; speculating, debating, dissecting.Post-lunch briefings wrapped up quickly and with the sun hanging mercilessly overhead as the clock crawled past 2:30 PM, the story finally began.
The first thing that caught me off guard wasnāt the engine. It wasnāt the styling either. It was the height. Swinging a leg over the F450GS feels deceptively easy at first. The motorcycle almost welcomes you in, but the moment you settle into the saddle, reality arrives. This is a tall motorcycle. We have spent years arguing over whether 825mm or 835mm seat heights are intimidating. This pushes the conversation furtherā¦..

Yes, we did say we would never return the Himalayan.
But some goodbyes arrive quietly. Like the end of a long road you somehow believed would keep going forever.
Nearly 15,000 kilometres and two-and-a-half years later, we finally say goodbye to a friend.
People who donāt love motorcycles will never fully understand this. Machines arenāt supposed to become companions. They arenāt supposed to occupy memory the way people do. And yet, somehow, they do. You begin by riding them. Somewhere along the way, they begin carrying parts of your life. The Himmy, as we lovingly called it, became intertwined into the rhythm of PowerDrift. Endless Pune-Goa-Pune runs, sudden Mumbai rides and dirt trails every other weekend. Traffic battles through the week. Cameras strapped on. Luggage tied down badly.
It didnāt just exist in our garage. It lived there. And maybe thatās the greatest thing you can say about an adventure motorcycle, that it fulfilled its purpose so completely, it stopped feeling like one. It became our daily.A special thank you to the wonderful folks at Royal Enfield who kept extending the return date, almost as if they too knew what this motorcycle had become to us. Because truthfully, we had stopped treating it like a media bike a long time ago. It became our daily.Ā Then came Project Him-We. Accessories arrived from all over the country, boxes turning up every other week like gifts from strangers who understood the same obsession. Slowly, the motorcycle evolved into something deeply personal.
But today, it stands bareā¦.

More points to note! ā¬ļøā¬ļøā¬ļø
1) Buses are allowed at the moment so donāt be surprised if you spot them
2) Please do not stop at any point to click for the gram. The cops have started implementing fines
3) There is absolutely no network once you are in. Should anything go wrong, there are emergency phones that should help
4) I was on it the other day and genuinely timed it. Took my cab 10 mins to get to the other side. This will help. Cannot believe we had to wait this long!

I have had the unit for nearly 5 years now. @bigbadbikes was kind enough to send it back then but I believe @cardosystems_india has officially set up shop here.
- The battery life is pretty incredible too. Without pairing, I have practically kept it on for over 12 hours and its worked just fine. With pairing though, it will last anywhere between 5-6 hours but its so much fun to banter.
- Thereās been no software issue with the product at all. Zero. Zilch!
- It works well in the rain too. Carries on like its just another day.
- I am not sure how good @senabluetoothindia is but I have heard that its the only true competitor!
Got questions? ā¬ļøā¬ļøā¬ļø
