Countershaded Dragons
- Countershading is a common form of camouflage where an animal has a darker back (dorsal side) and a lighter belly (ventral side). This pattern counteracts the shadows cast by natural overhead sunlight, making the animal appear flatter and blend into its background, reducing its 3D appearance to predators and prey.

Dragonfly Nymph
- I started tying these foam dragonfly nymphs back in 2018. I chose foam for their construction to avoid using deer hair as I found it messy and unruly lol… Anyhow, since then the pattern has undergone many variations- articulated, extended body, w/deer hair and so on. One thing I’m pleased to say is all of them catch fish! Whether you’re pulling them along the bottom or ripping them on the surface, trout looking for a meal hammer them 🙌🏼🐉

Stanton is a pro team member with numerous fly tying companies, and his fly patterns have been featured in many publications world wide. As a fly fisherman, Stanton continues to grow the sport of fly fishing. He is an active member of Fly Fishing Canada’s Board of Directors, and was selected to Canada’s National Team in 2023, and he is also an event organizer for the British Columbia Fly Fishing League.
