Let’s recap 🌱 Rooted & Radiant ✨ a women’s wellness event I curated a week ago in LA. I’ll start with some background:
“When the music changes, so must your dance” 💃🏾
This was the phrase I first heard from @elainewelteroth 6 years ago that gave me the courage to leave my first-ever company, Google, and see what else was out there. And it’s what is motivating me now. As someone who spent the past few years focused on marketing to Black audiences, as the energy towards that work has shifted I decided to reclaim my power. I can’t let a corporate entity decide whether I can create experiences for my community
And that’s how 🌱 Rooted & Radiant ✨was born! I am so excited I got to bring this wellness oriented experience to life for women. Thanks to all the practitioners and supporters!

Excited to run it back soon!
I didn’t think that there could be more dance than 2024, but boy was I wrong. In 2025 it wasn’t just about taking classes and training, but about totally new experiences.
From my first stage performance since childhood with @chicankle , to my first concept video getting down and dirty with the @moveintouch girls in a sweltering garage, jumping in as a video vixen for @tenimadeit , and more.
All of these were new ways to challenge myself and connect with this beautiful LA heels community. A couple of these were on my @o_tobi_a bingo card wishlist at the start of the year. Luckily the opportunities came along and I got to tap in!

Wow what a journey. This year I finally joined the @chicankle community after seeing so many girls grow and asking where they’ve been training. Thanks @my1way2 for bringing me something so different in my LA experience. From the strength training to the technique drilling to the over the top choreography to the live shows. And all only in the last half of the year.
Fun fact: This song has been my go-to for karaoke. It’s just that song. So much fun dancing to it 💃🏾 💃🏾

we wanted to create space for artists and creatives to unwind and connect with likeminded individuals over incredible art without the pressures of social media in an age where digital connection is at the forefront.
we have an exciting program featuring a social hour + vinyl swap where we’ll connect, play interactive games, use coloring books, enjoy accoutrements and so much more while accompanied by an all vinyl dj set!

When I was telling my therapist about how much time I was spending in my dance community and it being a women-centric space she replied that it was too bad there weren’t any men there, since of course being single that’s all I care about 😵💫
I quickly had to let her know this feminine space has been giving me life and basically reviving me after a rough middle part of the year. I’m so happy I got to partake in my first @chicankle program with @my1way2 who is such a talented choreographer, teacher and videographer. Thank you for the push 🖤
Can’t wait to return to the program after some travels! In the mean time watch me do my best video vixen impression in our finale solo performance 🫦
