There are always layers to culture… it’s not linear. There’s threads that connect us… there’s colors that identify us and there’s patterns that express spirit, land and identities - which has been shared, through cross cultural connections, through migration and through family ties… let’s embrace ourselves as family and not competitors or enemies. TRIBALISM is a COLONIAL poison and constructed plan to divide us. Embrace our differences and our connections

Dance has always been more than performance, it has always been spiritual. In many cultures, movement is/was used to release grief, restore balance, strengthen community, and reconnect people to themselves. Before healing was clinical or religious, it was rhythmic. The body carried memory, emotion, trauma, joy, and spirit — and dance became a way to move what words could not. Healing through dance is not about perfection or choreography. It is about presence. Breath. Repetition. Rhythm. The shaking of the shoulders, the stomping of feet, the circling of the body — these movements have existed across generations as forms of release, resistance, and transformation. As a healer, I see dance as cultural preservation and emotional restoration. It allows people to reconnect with the body, the ancestors, and parts of themselves they may have silenced. Movement can ground us, awaken us, and remind us that healing is sometimes expressive, physical, ancestral, and bold. #trance #release #sacred #dance

THIS IS CROSS CULTURAL hidden connections - trance dance and drum that flow through Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan, Egypt, Yemen, Iran and many others… the trance is sacred and not to be feared. Can you identify this psychological healing modality in your cultural roots as well? See that we are more connected, than we are different. —— As a first-gen Ethiopian, based in Los Angeles, I use performance as a platform to present and preserve the cultural practice of Spirit, while sharing my work as a Mystic, Shaman, Medium, healer. This performance combines storytelling, movement, and traditional elements to offer audiences a clear and respectful introduction to cultural practices connected to the spirit world and holistic healing. Cultural preservation is a central focus. Through each performance, I aim to create understanding, maintain authenticity, and contribute to a broader effort to document and sustain indigenous knowledge systems. My goal is to use this platform to build connections across communities and support a more unified recognition of indigenous traditions worldwide. If, in Los Angeles, see you at the next event! 🧿 #trance #drum #zar #spirit #ancient
