I wrote this song when I was around 22/23 years old
It was one of the first songs I ever finished writing, recorded, and released, the beginning of my adventure as a music artist
These lessons have carried me through the past decade, and I hope it finds you along your journey ❤️

They are perfectly valid responses to what we are living through, and are also powerful forces for change.

Musician friends what airline do you fly with that are chill with instruments?? ✈️🤔
For context,
Both @jeanseledoujet and I flew the same airline, on separate days on the way there with no issues carrying on our instruments.
However on the way back they refused to let us carry on and insisted we must check it, and that wrapping it in a box like this would be safer.
I booked because their instrument policy was 120cm, but turns out 120cm meant TOTAL DIMENSIONS H + W + D 😑
It's so stressful traveling with an instrument these days, especially because airlines seem to keep changing their policies, or are inconsistent with how they are enforced. I just want to be able to know when I book if this is going to be a problem because it seems to be a hit or miss every time I fly 😭

Van Lefan (樂凡) is a Taiwanese interdisciplinary artist based in Vancouver, BC, creating immersive works that weave sound, movement, and visual art into socially engaged performances. Blending voice, guitar, flute, and live electronics, her ethereal sound lives between experimental folk and art-pop—offering sonic rituals for reflection, grief, healing, and collective dreaming.
Inspired by protest folk of the 60s and 70s and contemporary genre-blending artists such as Aurora and Sufjan Stevens, Lefan’s work is a space of enchantment and resistance, rooted in ancestral memory, ecological connection, and hope as an active practice.
