. Being a part of this was so tender, raw and real. Thank you @taylor_warnecke for these photos.
I’ve lived in so much bleakness, darkness and emptiness. Walking in patterns that seemed unending, winding and sharp to the touch. I was broken to pieces and pulverized by life. The long days of waiting for an opportunity to come to me, feeling in over my head about my art and that it meant nothing to no one or myself. I felt like an over boiling pot with the lid glued on. Days turned to weeks just high in my bed thinking that one day I’ll be ok. Hanging with friends wearing a mask with a smile on it kinda got me through ; Just to be out kinda made me feel alive. Waking up in a random guys bed to be held for a little seemed to bring a jolt of life. But one day I handed over my life to Jesus and it went from a mute and muddled way of living to one filled with vivid color; Seeing life again for the first time. Thank you Jesus for purpose and a hand to hold through my obstacles. He set me free and He could do the same for you.
Charcoal on paper circa 2017
This piece was an embodiment of me in mental bondage. I didn’t even know I was in it. I thank God he took me from it.
