@diarrhaxo and immediately started to tear up. Thank you for the work and care you poured into the beauty industry and for giving all of us, including myself, the chance to feel seen.
I’ll never forget walking around Bedstuy in 2021 and seeing your wheat paste campaign on my way to the subway. It made me smile knowing that the images and ads were in a place that actually represented the people in the environment. I thought to myself in that moment, that’s a brand I’d love to work with.
A few years later your team reached out to have me photograph a product launch event. I remember at the time I didn’t really do events and
@kelly_mittendorf told me to just shoot my style, the way I normally would. Though shy, I remember meeting and photographing all the guests in a slow and intimate manner, the way I love to and the way I know best. Those portraits are still some of my favorites, especially being encouraged to work in my own style.
