Aurora… installation views
~ on view at Lenzner Gallery, Pitzer College till April 5th.
~Aurora is a new body of work I developed during my time as Ceramic Artist-in-Residence at Pitzer College.
“Inspired by her grandmother’s Auroras life, this exhibition explores the intersections of memory, cultural history, and the nuances of diasporic identity through processes of care, deterioration, and unity.”

Clay before time final class! clay-wrapped cooking chicken edition.
Recipe: Beggar’s Chicken “叫化鸡”🔥
I feel extremely lucky to share and expand knowledge with my students on wild clay. I first engaged with clay processing in Puerto Rico where the material offered solace.
Clays harvested and processed in the class from Fire Valley (calarts), Placerita Canyon, Castaic Lake, Wichita Falls, New Mexico, Malibu, Sierra Madre Mountains, & Irwindale… We also built apparatuses for reclaiming clay. It was so much fun! Sumamente agradecida ⭐️

Aurora…
2025 • closet bifold doors, handmade soap, charcoal, wood, ceramics, rattan, glass jugs, water, oil, hand pump, paper, towels, light fixture
[eng.]
Aurora….
the center is a spine of a thousand stories, some forgotten, others in a thousand mouths, and those learning in decline to throw kisses and dance any rhythm, moving from side to side to oxygenate the body

A beautiful show about conversations of drawings / space~structure / the complexity of making/thinking about the body. In this architecture, Celosía becomes an embrace to the multiplicities of the self.
