Following a successful demo of our AUV technology at Fraunhofer SOT, a LOI has been put in place to concretize commercial and development collaboration this semester. “At Fraunhofer Smart Ocean Technologies we are actively involved in underwater monitoring through our affiliated institutes with expertise in ocean technology. Our multidisciplinary Fraunhofer research team is developing pioneering marine technology and new solutions for sustainable use of the oceans. As a cross-institutional research network in underwater technology, we operate in the context of the Ocean Technology Campus Rostock and benefit in particular from a nearby underwater testing ground in the Baltic Sea, the Digital Ocean Lab DOL @fraunhofer.igd that also includes an artificial reef. Fraunhofer SOT is interested to work with the uOne for the frequent monitoring of our artificial reefs at the DOL because of its capabilities in autonomous gathering of geolocalized benthic habitat pictures with synchronized data points.
