Master Prompt for Editing Studio Portraits with Added Elements:
When editing your studio portraits with AI, always build your prompt in layers. Here’s a structure you can follow:
1. Camera & Lens Info
Include your camera brand/model, lens type, and focal length.
Example: “Shot on a Canon R5 with an 85mm f/1.4 lens at 85mm.”
2. Studio Setup
Describe your studio size, backdrop, and lighting.
Example: “Medium studio with neutral backdrop, one large softbox at 45° key light, fill light from the opposite side.”
3. Subject Placement & Composition
State where the subject is, their pose, and perspective.
Example: “Single portrait, waist-up, centered in frame, subject facing camera slightly turned.”
4. Added Element
Clearly describe the object you want to add (type, style, color).
Example: “Add white magnolia flowers, muted tones, arranged in Japanese ikebana style.”
5. Depth & Placement of the Element
Tell the AI where to place it in 3D space.
Example: “Flowers positioned close to the camera in the foreground, partially in soft focus.”
6. Focus & Depth of Field
Define how sharp or blurred the added element should be.
Example: “Foreground flowers softly blurred, subject sharp and in focus.”
7. Lighting Consistency
Make sure the new element matches the studio light.
Example: “Lighting on flowers matches studio setup, soft shadows consistent with key light.”
8. Resolution & Quality
Always reinforce that the edit should not degrade the photo.
Example: “Ultra high resolution, photo-realistic, no loss of image quality.”

Decency to sit quietly (March 2026)
To break the paralysis, I dragged myself out to a remote pocket of Kerry with my friend Sean. For the first time in a long while, I wasn’t shooting for the euros. I just wanted to pin a memory to the wall before it evaporated. (Though to be fair, Kerry did all the heavy lifting.)
But the real shift didn’t happen on a windy cliff. It happened over evening tea at Sean’s grandfather’s house. Now I miss dissecting why the neighbor was dragging furniture at 3 AM with my dad still on his one last email. I got reminded me how much I miss the aggressively mundane family moments. The comfortable weight of unconditional strings.
Five years in Ireland, and I’m still negotiating the terms of ‘home.’ A timeline doesn’t hand you the keys to belonging—peace does. And when you move across the world specifically to hunt down success, peace becomes a very slippery thing to hold onto.
The numbness is just a phase. But for a weekend in Kerry, it at least had the decency to sit quietly in the corner.
Can’t believe we did this in 15 mins with just one light in a home studio.
spec ad for @thenorthfac / @thenorthfaceuk with @brenda_farrenx@jemilsaidi thanks for the space.

Shot on a 30 Euro lens I got from @retropiacam .
They repurpose old disposable camera lenses and I always thought that’s such a cool idea. Yes, it doesn’t have autofocus or zoom, it’s a fixed f/11 or f/10 32mm lens. But the lens flares, the soft focus & the character in the images are so unique!
These are edited with @lightroom for mainly the colours and the carousel made with @scrlgallery
That’s my friend @shotbybazel who was out testing this with me.
So yes, you don’t need a 900 Euro lens to express yourself in your shots, you just need to play more! Go out and shoot with what you have, have fun with it while you can.

Taken just before signing my first modelling contract.
You can’t take that seriously! It’s amazing when you have friends who are photographers and suddenly it doesn’t feel alarming to be infront of the lens sometimes.
Glad to have these days where you go out and shoot and try new things just for the sake of it. Just because you can, even if it means getting completely drenched.
All of the images are by the Fuji king @shotbybazel 📸
Thank you for looking at my desperate personal branding attempt! ✨
