The moment you know, itās a banger š
A lot of tracks sound fat in the studio, but itās that moment you play the track out on the dancefloor for the very first time, which always makes me nervous. Staying patient to pick the right moment. I actually played two gigs before this one and just never found the right moment on the night. So to then have that moment, play that new unreleased track and get the reaction means everything.
South Africa Snaps II. Two weeks full of surreal contrast.
Never felt the burden and complexities of history quite as much anywhere else, with the exception of maybe Cuba. Beauty and harsh reality in dysfunctional harmony. Learnt a lot, made new friends and visited old ones, played some music and ate good food. Until next time
I just played my first headliner show in whatās likely the best Techno Club in South Africa and it kinda just happened. Had to let that sink in for a moment. Surreal 24 hours, vacation during the day while also preparing my set, trying to get even just an hour rest before the show, back in bed at 5am and getting woken up by my daughter at 9am š« Iām grateful and exhausted. Back at it this Saturday.
