Early this month, #UTSWOrtho residents and faculty attended the 2026 @txorthoassn Leadership Conference!
We participated in the Battle of the Bones competition this year representing @utswortho_residents were Graham Andre, M.D. and Yida Liu, M.D. They finished at the top of the leaderboard and advanced as one of the final two teams for the skills competition. Congrats to you both!

#UTSWOrtho had the pleasure of welcoming David L. Helfet, M.D. from @hspecialsurgery to our campus for our Grand Rounds series.
Dr. Helfet gave an insightful lecture on Acetabular Fractures and lessons learned over 40 years of practices as well as got a grand tour of our campus facilities.

#UTSWOrtho faculty, and residents, as well as #utsouthwestern medical students and @srchildren_ faculty had a great time at #AAOS2026 early this month!
From lunch and learns to sessions and panel discussions, we were able to learn more about orthopaedic surgery practices and network with other fellow orthopaedic surgeons.
During the events, some of our faculty members earned major honors and awards, including our department chair, Antonia Chen, M.D., MBA, who was elected president of AAHKS. Also, Henry Ellis, M.D., Phil Wilson, M.D. and the ROCK Study Group received the IMPACT Award at AAOS, and Amy McIntosh, M.D. became the first recipient of the Mayo Clinic Franklin H. Sims, M.D., Orthopedic Surgery Outstanding Alum Award presented during the meeting.
Congratulations to all who received major awards and achievements. We can’t wait for #AAOS2027!
