King is ready to find his castle and rule over his forever family with kisses and snuggles.
King is a deeply lovable frenchie/pittie mix with a big skooshy head and a heart to match. This 4 yr old, 40 lb dude is a certified cuddle monster, happiest when he’s pressed up against you like a warm, snoring gargoyle. His little piggy eyes, signature meatball waddle, and ridonkulous blep only adds to his charm; this guy is pure joy in a compact, wiggly package.
.
King came to us from Stockton shelter after being attacked by five large dogs, and was surrendered so the shelter could treat his wounds. He then came to us to ensure his life was saved and he could be in a comfortable foster home to fully heal. Despite this traumatic attack, King still gets along with the friendly calm dogs he meets and has a chill “go with the flow” demeanor. He loves making friends with people and is very sweet with kids. He’s the definition of an easy going companionship: sweet, social, and always ready for affection. He’s currently being fostered with 4 small dogs. His foster mom describes him as a big giant baby, and even will sit up on his butt reaching out for a hug and to fall backwards in your lab for cuddles.
.
While he’s got a gold star personality, his breed mix left him with some genetic health risks that his future family will need to keep an eye on, and be prepared to treat if they possibly worsen throughout his life, but at four years old he’s managed very well, isn’t in pain, and trots along in high spirits! King came to us with a heart murmur and his back leg was still healing from his attack. We took him to several specialists to assess his health. What they found were some congenital defects that at this time don’t require major intervention. When the cardiologist evaluated his heart murmur they found that he was born with a heart defect and is doing well on heart medication and in a year will need a recheck. We’re happy to share these medical records with interested adopters knowing that any dog with pre-existing medical conditions requires important consideration.

Well this is a kind of Monday we can get behind, our girl Winnie is kicking off spring break with her new family! She’s got two big sisters that she’ll have so much fun with. Her new mom mentioned she found Winnie from our fb video, and while they have been looking for dogs and met several others, they had been looking at dogs available that were between 20-40lb so Winnie wasn’t on their radar…but little did they know they needed 5lbs of extra love 😉
Thank you to everyone that helped us share Winnie’s posts!
I adore you Winnie!! Winnie is an amazing about 3 yrs old #cattledogmix that’s available for adoption with @urrescue in Portland, OR. This girl came to us from California, and has been in foster care for a little over a month and is just pure love, fun, and intelligence. I’ve been walking her everyday and she’s a breeeezeeee on leash, crate trained, and does well with cats and dogs. She sometimes can be a little shy, but I’ve fostered a lot of dogs and she connects with you looking for guidance, direction, and encouragement that is such a good quality to see in dogs. She is so goofy, and affectionate and will absolutely thrive in a family that loves to be active, is grounded, and has another dog that’s she can play with.
I’ve been so surprised this girl hasn’t gotten more interest, so please help me share her so we can find her forever home!

Hi, Winnie here, quick question…Have you been looking for an affectionate and sweet pup who’s playful, crate & house trained, cat & dog friendly, and has amazing loose leash walking skills? Do you enjoy outdoor activities and wish you had an adventure buddy? Do you like to snuggle? If so…I think we’d be a perfect match 🥺❤️

Meet Winnie, a joyful bouncy border collie cattle dog mix that’s ready to be your very best friend! Winnie is about 45 lbs, and about 3 years old. She is a quick study, very affectionate, and has been learning so much in her foster home.
🐶This cutie patootie is full of sweetness and puppy energy that’s very endearing. She loves to cuddle and crawl into your lap. She’s equally goofy and so proud of herself when she’s showing off her tricks. Her foster mom says she reminds her of a kangaroo bc she loves to use her paws and often stands or sits up on her back legs! Toys are her very favorite things, and she often plays with them by herself.
🐶
Winnie will do best in a home where she has a dog buddy to play with and a family that’s excited to be active with her and continue training and building up her confidence!
🐶
Winnie has been doing so well in her foster care with @hollyfosters_ and is eager to please. She gets along really well with the resident dog, and has been pretty neutral towards the family cat! When left alone at home she does great her in crate, and her foster mom doesn’t work from home. She takes treats very gently, and knows a range of tricks: down, sit, look at me, kennel, come, no, up top, go lie down, and drop it! We mentioned she’s a quick study right??
If you’re looking for an adventure buddy that’s sweet as honey, smart, and affectionate with a solid start in training Winnie’s your girl!
Her adoption fee is $390 & you can apply to adopt her on our website underdogsrock.org

*KING UPDATE* King went to have a surgery consult at OREV and was such a good sport having his hips and mobility assessed. It was determined that his stiff gait and strange leg positioning with his hind legs is neurological and that a femoral head ostectomy isn’t recommended. King may need an MRI which has similar costs as the surgery we thought he’d need. The good news is that he does have good flexibility and extension in his knees, and his stiff gait isn’t due to pain, but a neurological disconnect in coordination which the surgeon said is common in pocket bully / frenchie mixes. Our next steps are to get King in for a neurology consult and a cardiology consult to evaluate his heart murmur and establish what longterm support he will need!
.
In the meantime, King has been happy and well loved in his foster home. He is a big ol lap dog and expert cuddler, and enjoys playing with toys! 😊
Hello! I’m Philippe (with the floppy ears) & I’m Pierre (with the pointy ears)!
We are two distinguished gentlemen of 15 years, and we come as a perfectly matched set of Maltese mixes. We are a small dapper duo, about 10 lbs each, but our presence is mighty in the ways that count: loyalty, calm companionship, and the art of a good nap.
Our previous person couldn’t take us with them when they went into assisted living and Underdogs Rock! Rescue saved us quickly so that we could stay together. Now we’re looking for a peaceful, loving home where we can spend our golden years together.
Our ideal day involves an easy, leisurely stroll to sniff the interesting things, followed by the main event: finding the perfect, soft spot for cuddles and peaceful nap time. Long hikes or frantic games of fetch though are too much for our little aging bodies, but we do like to play with toys occasionally! We have hearty appetites, love getting treats, and enjoy our daily walks.
As little seniors go, we have some expected aging health things like poor teeth, but we just went to the vet and got our bloodwork done and are in great shape for our age. Our rescue will be talking with the vet about getting a teeth cleaning and extractions if needed.
We do well if we need to be crated, ride well in a car, and have good house training habits when we are taken outside as needed.
We have so much love left to give, and we’re hoping to find a kind human (or two!) to share our peaceful world. High energy homes with active young children will be too much for us. While we’d prefer to be the only dogs in the home, we get along well with other dogs and wouldn’t mind joining a family with other dogs with similar energy.
Could you be the ones to give us the gentle, loving home we’re dreaming of?
Underdogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. Adoption fee for both of u is $390. They are being fostered in SE Portland. You MUST have an Underdogs Rock Rescue application on file to request a meet with an Underdog. An online Underdogs Rock adoption application can only be accessed at /adopt-a-dog

King joined the Underdogs Rock Rescue this Saturday and we are so happy he’s safe with us now and can get the medical care he needs.
We are so grateful to the staff and volunteers at Stockton Shelter that rooted for him while his exit plan was formed and his temporary foster loved and cared for him until his transport day.
It’s no small feat for small rescues like us to take on dogs with expensive medical needs, but our community and collaboration in rescue work makes it possible for us to move worlds to save a dog like King!
It’s because of your pledged donations, a committed foster home, and the support of @1510foundation that our commitment to save King was possible.
To honor your pledge or if you’d like to donate, please visit our website and donate at underdogsrock.org/donate
Go Team King!
🐾 URGENT PLEDGES NEEDED: HELP US SAVE KING! 🐾
This brave boy is fighting to survive, and has a safe place to heal ❤️🩹
King has endured an unimaginable ordeal 😢 After being attacked by five dogs he was dumped at the Stockton Shelter. Somehow he is just the sweetest soul despite the trauma and a staff favorite. He has severe injuries including an unrelated urgent, expensive surgery—a femoral head ostectomy (FHO) —along with wound care and a long recovery. ⏳ Without immediate rescue, this sweet, injured dog is at risk of euthanasia. 💔
🎉 THERE’S HOPE! A dedicated foster home is secured and waiting for him! (Thank you @iamhellsea !)🏡❤️
All we need now is the ability to fund his critical medical journey. And bring him to safety. 💸
We’re ready to step in, but King’s life-saving surgery and rehabilitation are costly. FHO surgeries are around $4-6k and we can’t commit to him without your help to bring him from the shelter to safety and through his healing. We’re actively seeking sponsorship, but it won’t be enough. 🤝
We need pledges to make King’s rescue, surgery, and aftercare possible.
Every single pledge helps our rescue step up to say yes.
If you can’t pledge, please share. King deserves the safety to recover and a pain-free life.
Pledge your loyalty to save our boy King! 😜
Comment below with your pledge amount (e.g., “I pledge $20” 💵). This is a promise to pay only if/when Underdogs Rock Rescue officially pulls King to safety and posts for collection.
