Last year, Uniters across Southern Oregon sat down with neighbors they may have never met before. They showed up with different stories and different perspectives and chose to hear each other out.
We believe service can advance three core UR Action objectives: increase social cohesion, boost civic participation, and strengthen local institutions. That's why we're thrilled to partner with @lead4america to enhance the dialogue, consensus-building, and conflict resolution skills of @americanconnectioncorps service members.

In 2020, Time Magazine named Joe Bubman, founder of Urban Rural Action, as one of "27 People Bridging Divides Across America." We are bringing Joe and his team back this spring for a workshop on "Media Manipulation and Polarization." We could all use help navigating the "false information, rage inducing content, and echo chambers" that "have been fueling polarization and weakening our democracy." Thanks to @jpw and Journalism alum @derekwwan for generously supporting @uraction to return to TCNJ and deepen the impact of our school's series on Communication for the Common Good.
