Illuminate Adelaide has officially launched its 2026 program today, and it’s set to transform the city from 1–19 July into a dazzling playground of light, art, music and innovation.
Expect 100+ experiences and performances, including 11 world premieres and 11 Adelaide exclusives, featuring everything from interactive multiplayer games and immersive culinary experiences to digital underwater worlds, experimental music and awe-inspiring Ice Age megafauna.
Plus, a city-wide program of free installations continues to break down barriers, making art more accessible for everyone.

It has been reported that ticket sales broke records this year and this is because of the hard work of all the performers, visual artists, arts workers, front of house, back of house, event planners, programmers, producers, cleaners, venue workers and owners, producers, ticketing staff, production, techs, partners and supporters and many more it takes a village and a lot of sacrifice to produce a festival like the Adelaide Fringe.
The team at Upside Adelaide are so proud to be and support this ecology, we are all volunteers and think you are all winners regardless of the physical awards, well done to all who participated, sacrificed and supported this wonderful festival!

The beautiful courtyard at Treasury 1860 set the perfect stage for After Hours, a soulful celebration of the legendary female voices who shaped jazz and soul music.
Led by the confident and captivating Grace Mensforth, and backed by a brilliant band, the evening pays tribute to icons like Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone, Sarah Vaughan and Norah Jones. From classics like Heard It Through the Grapevine to smooth jazz favourites, the music fills the courtyard as the double bass, piano and vocals create a warm late-night jazz club atmosphere under the Adelaide sky. 🎶
Framed by the stunning backdrop of the historic Treasury building, the setting elevates the entire performance — intimate, stylish and full of heart.
