We’re excited to officially announce our expansion with the addition of renowned music supervisor Mike Turner who has joined the Clearly Music team as a full-time partner and music supervisor.
Additionally, long-time Clearly Music team member Caleb McFadden has been elevated to the role of associate music supervisor.
We’re VERY excited for the future of the business and are so grateful for our amazing clients and partners whose support have allowed us to scale our vision and expand our offering.

After a long break while we caught our breath, B-SIDE RETURNS more triumphant than ever. United in eggs we stand. Shoulder to shoulder, we march through Los Angeles diners in search of the best pancake.

We’ve noticed that there’s a lot of confusion around what a Music Supervisor does so we wrote an article to explain the nuts and bolts of what a Music Supervisor ACTUALLY does in an article called “What a Music Supervisor Actually Does” - Great title, huh? I know, it’s genius.

Couple more things to clarify that we see often:
If someone is representing your music for synch opportunities, that job function is not called “music supervision.” That’s a synch agent of some sort. They pitch your music to a Music Supervisor or the production.
The Music Supervisor also doesn’t participate in a percentage of the licensing fee for a song. We’re paid by the production who hired us for our services.

So awesome to have had the honor of Music Supervising this documentary, working alongside @peterhilgendorf and the whole production. @djkevincole has made such big impact on the lives of so many musicians, small and large. As lifelong fans of @kexp and having roots in Seattle, we were thrilled to be a part of this!
About the film: After 50 years as a DJ, Kevin Cole retires from his daily radio show at Seattle’s KEXP, closing out a storied career that began at Minneapolis’ legendary First Avenue, where Prince was known to slip Kevin his latest songs to observe the response on the dance floor. After launching the much-loved but short-lived Rev105 radio station, he is soon lured to the Pacific Northwest by a new musical venture at a rapidly growing online bookstore called Amazon.com. But Kevin soon finds himself recoiling from corporate culture and ultimately returns to radio, where he shepherds a fledgling college station into a music discovery powerhouse with worldwide reach.
