This is Uppingham. Made by you. As recognised in our recent Tatler Schools' Guide review, we encourage our pupils to 'be the change your community needs'. Our pupils bring energy, heart, and soul to this school, and we look forward to welcoming you back for the new school year.

Take a look around our School Shop, located opposite the Main School on High Street West. As well as offering uniform fittings to new pupils, the School Shop also has plenty of merchandise, stationery and more to browse. Follow one of our pupils - who also volunteers at the shop as part of her Gold @dofeuk - on a tour to see for yourself.

As public examinations get fully underway, it’s brilliant to see pupils making good use of the Library and study spaces throughout the School for preparation and revision.

On Tuesday, three of our @uppinghamlowerschool Year 8 pupils were delighted to head up to Old Trafford to receive their award in the @showracismtheredcard School Competition Awards Ceremony. The boys thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to meet England football legends John Barnes and Viv Anderson, as well as being able to get a great look around Manchester United’s stadium. They placed second in the All Ages and Abilities Boot Category, where they designed a football boot to promote the values and the mission of this incredibly important organisation. Well done, boys!

A new school record! 🏆 Congratulations to one of our Upper Sixth pupils, who this afternoon broke the school record for 500m swim with an impressive time of 5.48.5!

NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! 🏆🏑 Congratulations to our U18 Boys’ Hockey team, who finished victorious in a nail-biting @englandhockey T2 National Plate Final at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre in Olympic Park, London. After a close match and with seven minutes left on the clock, Uppingham fought back to win the match 2-1 - and the travelling crowd went wild! Mr James Baker, Deputy Director of Sport and Director of Hockey, said: “To say I’m proud would be an understatement. A performance and a team to be proud of. The supporters were terrific, and it was a great occasion for the school community.”

Saturday Sporting Extravaganza! Yesterday was a beautiful day of summer sport, with the sun shining across Uppingham and Rutland. There were many highlights coming across the day. Cricket – Our 1st XI Boys led the charge against Oakham School down on The Upper, winning by an impressive 7 wickets. Well done to our @fircroft.upp Captain who scored 59 and to one of @westbank.upp U6th for a 61* to see the game out. Our Girls’ U15A XI had a great match up on The Middle, with some strong batting on show, winning by 40 runs. There were victories in the block for all of our Senior Boys’ teams, as well as for our Boys’ U15A & B and Boys’ U14A & B. There were standout performances in the 5th XI where there was an undefeated opening partnership from @fircroft.upp & @highfield.upp pupils who chased down Oakham’s 129 within 12 overs, with our @fircroft.upp opener scoring an impressive 102*. In our U15A XI fixture, one of our @fircroft.upp @lcccacademy players scored the highest individual total for the day of 144 off 73 balls. Our @meadhurst.up seamer then took 7 wickets, including a hat-trick! What a day for Uppingham Cricket! Target Shooting – Our Mixed U18 team took to the shooting range to take on the @old_uppinghamian team in their annual fixture. It was a brilliant show of talent and accuracy, with our @johnsons.upp Captain scoring an incredible 97 out of 100. Experience held out in the end, with the OUs winning 635-622, but the whole day showed some excellent talent coming through the ranks. Tennis – Out tennis teams had a competitive fixture block against Repton, on the first day of minimal wind and radiating sunshine, allowing for almost perfect playing conditions. Highlights came from our Senior Girls’ teams, with our 2nd, 3rd and 4th VI all taking convincing victories, as well as our U15A & C Girls winning 9-0 and our U14B & D teams battling out until the end to win 5-4 and 7-2 , respectively. #UppinghamSport

It was all go on the Main Quad last night gathering our music ensembles for their annual photos, despite the dark clouds the weather held out and we look forward to seeing the finished results!
