This isn’t just an anniversary – it’s a celebration of 70 years of the DofE charity, the millions of young people who’ve grown through it, and the volunteers who’ve made those experiences possible.

Doing her DofE at a young offender institution helped Maisie find purpose through volunteering, staying active and connecting with others. With the right support, she was able to grow in confidence, harness her passions and manage her mood.

Georgia Gould MP visited Westminster Academy, where young people shared how volunteering is building their confidence.
Louie French MP visited Cleeve Meadow School, touring the student-run café ‘Juliets’, where many are completing their volunteering sections.
Angela Rayner MP visited Droylsden Academy to chat about enrichment, with students putting their tent-building and nutritional planning skills to the test ⛺
MP’s presented schools with their Social Value certificates for the contribution their young people have made to local communities through volunteering. Well done to all the young people for this achievement!

Getting ready for your DofE expedition? Having good campcraft and cooking skills can make your whole expedition smoother, safer, and way more enjoyable 🍳
Our top tips for cooking on your DofE expedition 👇
- Put your stove on flat, firm ground at ground level, away from anything that could knock it over.
- Decide your menu in advance so you know exactly what to pack and you’ll have something tasty to look forward to at the end of the day.
- Make sure your stove is completely cold before you pack it away.
