Lodge Spotlight: Kendjam Lodge
~
Tucked deep in the heart of the Amazon,
@kendjamlodge is one of those rare places that every angler should have on their radar. The rivers here run gin-clear, the fish are wild, aggressive, and often completely new to most fly fishers, and the setting feels like something out of a dream. But what truly makes Kendjam special is the story behind it. The lodge is run in close partnership with the Kayapo tribe and
@untamedangling , blending world-class fishing with a deep commitment to conservation and cultural respect. It’s more than a fishing trip, it’s a connection to a place, people, and a passion for fly fishing.

Getting there isn’t the easiest, and that’s kind of the point. Three commercial flights, two taxis, an overnight in Manaus, a bush plane, and a three-hour boat ride later, we finally pulled up to Kendjam Lodge. Set along the Iriri River within the protected Mekragnoti Indigenous Territory, the lodge gives anglers access to a remarkable range of freshwater species like peacock bass, pirarara, wolf fish, pacu, matrinxã, bicuda, payara, and more. Each day feels like an adventure into the unknown, with the jungle alive around you and a new species always just a cast away.
