Rodd’s is one today.
Well, perhaps unofficially if we set aside the blood sweat and tears we all put into development. But a year ago we put an iced coffee on a shelf in Sainsbury’s and hoped someone would pick it up. Quite a lot of people picked it up. Then other people stocked it. Now it’s the UK’s number one plant-based iced coffee.
We built Rodd’s together with Will Lenney and James Marriott because we believed the Unsigned model – start with people an audience already cares about and build something real around them – would work for creating a brand, not just partnering with someone else’s. It worked. Whether that’s because Will and James are exceptionally good at what they do, because our founding partners know how to get a product onto a shelf and keep it there, or because the model is right is a question we’re happy to leave unanswered. Probably all three.

Following the success of the inaugural campaign with Sylvester Stallone, Unsigned expanded the partnership for a second installment. Stallone was joined by his daughters plus global football icon Thierry Henry for SouthMED Phase 2.
