trash bags have landed at NYFW this design finally came together after lots of trial and error! sometimes you just need to sit in a room surrounded by friends doing crafts and gather inspiration from whatever it is they're up to 👀✍🏾 i'm so grateful for all the opportunities this series has brought me so far and we're only on EIGHT!! I'm feeling sappy bc its my birthday 🎂 so thank you all for watching and follow along if you want to see more bags made of trash Trash Bag No. 8 was woven and stitched secondhand metallic leather from @artformsd nyfw event: @re.stance other designers: @dina.mahrouz @meganginndesign runway 📸: @gardenofkaylin @isandres66

looms easily make top 20 best human inventions, argue with your mama!! you might know me for the looms i design, 3D print, and use to weave Unknot bags. i decided to go back to the fundamentals and build myself a frame loom using scrap wood from an old garden project and jumbo wooden skewers i found at the grocery store for $2.54 i don't think the project would've turned out this pretty without the cordless rotary tool gifted to me by Katerk! the sanding and grinding made so much difference if you'd like a @katerk_official rotary tool for yourself, find the link in my bio 🛠️

rocks - wrapped all the rocks are foraged from local canyons, my neighborhood and (mostly) my backyard then carefully wrapped and woven in cord from @hemptique , my go to for natural fiber twines (not sponsored, just a fan!) had a lot of fun with this project for @gastrodiplomacy.world

new crafts, new friends, same hobbies, more art, unknot in april 🌱 1-2, 15: my time in balboa park has skyrocketed this year, unfortunately coinciding with parking fees (and procrastination to get my resident permit) 3: foraging with friends 4-5: soft crafts hard surfaces 6-7: knots for beginners 8: knots for giants 9: knots hate ice (colors picked by our no ice fundraiser winner) 10: fund the arts @mayortoddgloria 11: nyc protest posters in san diego by @jmacphee at @and_friends_gallery something about seeing my fellow angry new yorkers amongst my new san diego neighbors really did something for me 12: trash quilts at @mingeimuseum !! depression era companies made it so their packaging waste was worth using again. the number of people who mentioned this on my last trash bag video right after i'd seen this exhibit felt like ✨synchronicity✨ (or Baader-Meinhof in action) 13-14: knots for you 🧡 16: @tone__dog at @personalrecord.gallery 17: @mb_00_dm + @nehvul at @deixisgallery curated by @gracievivienne1 🎶 music by @tnicpo

wishing everyone a merry earth day, except for the laundry list of companies and individuals directly responsible for perpetuating our planet's deterioration. y'all can eat dirt 🫶🏾 #upcyclingfashion #trashart #fiberartist #sustainabledesign #sfclimateweek

i had the opportunity to share these pieces recently for an event, and it got me reflecting the 2023 series is a study on what textures and shape can emerge using just the square knot and empty space. i barely scratched the surface this is why i love macrame as a medium! so much variety can come from simple and accessible building blocs. i'm almost positive you've used a square knot before (even if you don't know it by name 😊)
