@unkleluc is a Miami-based visual artist and director working across video, design, and artificial intelligence. His practice engages with memory, identity, and cultural preservation through both emerging and obsolete media technologies. The city is his primary material, approached with the sensitivity of street photography and close attention to how images persist, shift, and lose definition over time. While grounded in a methodical research process, Luc’s work remains deeply personal. His images move between systematic inquiry and lived experience, reflecting a relationship with place shaped as much by memory and identity as by technology. Luc reconfigures time-based imagery into experiential digital environments. His work focuses on the mechanisms through which contemporary culture is recorded and translated, especially where life intersects with technological systems. This approach comes into full focus in @miami.1996 , his central project. The series examines Miami as a living archive at a moment when analog culture, early digital aesthetics, and accelerating gentrification begin to overlap. Photography and film capture the texture of the street, while AI-generated imagery functions as a process of reinterpretation. What emerges is a fragmented portrait of the city. A place where cultural memory is constantly rewritten, filtered, and displaced. In Luc’s work, the present itself becomes unstable, shaped by images that no longer simply reflect reality, but actively reorganize how it is experienced and remembered. - #clankermag #postphotography #aiart #postreality
