I have known King Chuga for around 10 years now, from when I first listened to his earlier mixes on Soundcloud with particular mention going to his legendary `Minchery Farm mix that he did back then - I have since found Minchery Farm was a club he used to frequent back in the day and was playing tunes from what he heard there over the years. Fast forward a few years and King Chuga setup Unity Underground with his partner RACH, and they have been going from strength to strength the last few years putting on events mainly in Sheffield, but also playing at Planet Wax too. I personally feel jungle and drum and bass has risen the last few years here in Sheffield thanks to them, which has helped inspire projects like Amen Audio to ride the crest of the jungle wave too here in Sheffield. I love this mix and love the obscure tracklist too, there is a lot of tunes ive just never heard before on this mix ! 💥💥 Less than 2 weeks to go until we welcome @djdecibella to play her debut set for Unity Underground🤩 Decibella - Captivated by the sounds of Garage, Hardcore and Jungle via pirate radio stations and rave tape packs, Decibella found her home on the dance-floors of One Nation, Telepathy and Raindance where she began her underground musical education, leading later to the dubstep-oriented institutions FWD and DMZ. Her DJ sets capture the authentic sounds of Jungle and Rave, across it’s broad spectrum of forms. Decibella pushes the freshest dubs and releases from the scenes new wave of contemporary artists and labels, yet her taste is infused with a revered nod to the original sound and vibe of the genre from where her passion and love for the music was born. When I first started playing jungle and DnB (outside of the bedroom) back in March 2023 — alongside launching @unity_underground_sheffield — Radio Free Matlock aka RFM was where my radio journey began. Seeing it grow into VPR Audio Club makes this one feel extra special, and I’m so excited to be back in the studio and catch up with everyone. 💥💥 Tim Clay is a DJ and producer based in Reading, UK who is known for his lightspeed cut and scratch style. Tim began DJing at the tender age of 12, inspired by pioneering acts like DJ Hype, Goldie and Andy C. Starting out on belt drive Gemini decks, he was forced to work hard on perfecting his technique. Watching him perform today on Technics 1210s, his dedication to the craft from the very start is evident. Clay’s first break as a DJ came at a Portsmouth night called Concrete Music. After a few years DJing he started making tunes experimenting with the Fruity Loops platform. He signed his first release in 2010, to a label called Paranoid Recordings, working under the alias Timdnb. A low grade at music tech A-Level sapped his confidence though and he put the craft to one side for some time. It wasn’t until a chance meeting with Digital (Function Records) that he was inspired to start writing again. Thanks to Digital’s encouragement and mentorship, Tim scored his first release on Function, under his own name, in 2023. The release was entitled Wounded EP, and it put Tim Clay firmly on the map. The release was supported by DJs like Storm, Mantra, Kenny Ken, Pete Cannon and other key names. Following that, he dropped the New Beginnings EP, also on Function Records. Others labels quickly began to take note, and he notched up releases on Pete Cannon’s N4 label, Law’s Repertoire label and DJ Trace’s 117. 2025 was a platinum year for Tim! Alongside releases on leading labels, he appeared at legendary nights like Rupture, Wrekt and Distant Planet. Moreover, he made his debut at the drum & bass scene’s annual meetup in Sardinia, Sun & Bass. Tim will be playing for us (for the 2nd time) at our up and coming debut event at Dryad Works in Sheffield on Friday 8th May 🙌🏻. He’ll be playing in the all vinyl jungle room alongside Decibella, Ikon Roller, Junglist Alliance and more!
