Anche noi partecipiamo a “Le Università per la libertà di ricerca, a dieci anni dalla scomparsa di Giulio Regeni”. Abbiamo ospitato in Aula Magna a Palazzo del Bo l’evento dedicato alla libertà di studio e di ricerca, inserito nell’iniziativa promossa dalla senatrice Elena Cattaneo in memoria di Giulio Regeni. Oltre alla proiezione del documentario, che affronta le conseguenze della compressione dei diritti fondamentali in ambito accademico e sociale, si è tenuta la tavola rotonda “Non c’è ricerca senza libertà”. Grazie a tutte e tutti per aver partecipato! . . We also took part in “Universities for the Freedom of Research, ten years after the death of Giulio Regeni”. We hosted in the Aula Magna of Palazzo del Bo an event dedicated to the freedom of study and research, part of the initiative promoted by Senator Elena Cattaneo in memory of Giulio Regeni. Alongside the screening of a documentary exploring the consequences of restricting fundamental rights in academic and social contexts, the round table discussion “There Is No Research Without Freedom” also took place. La Sala delle Palme del @visitmnu @museiunipd è riconosciuta patrimonio mondiale dall’Unione Internazionale di Scienze Geologiche @the_iugs La IUGS ha inserito la storica sala tra le geo-collezioni di rilevanza globale, riconoscendone l’altissimo valore scientifico e storico. Un traguardo che valorizza il lavoro di ricerca, conservazione e divulgazione della comunità scientifica e conferma il ruolo di Padova come città della scienza. “L’inserimento Sala delle Palme nella prestigiosa lista delle collezioni geologiche e paleontologiche di importanza globale per la loro rilevanza storica e scientifica è un riconoscimento del grande lavoro di conservazione, ricerca e divulgazione svolto dalla comunità scientifica del Museo e dalla sua interazione con il @geoscienze.unipd ” spiega il direttore scientifico del museo Luca Pagani. It sounds surprising, but clams and their “memory” of stress are offering new insights to help protect the balance of marine ecosystems. And Chiara Mascitelli tells us all about it, a PhD candidate in the GEMMA – Genomics Ecotoxicology & Microbiology in Marine Animals research group (Department of Comparative Biomedicine and Food Science and Department of Animal Medicine, Production and Health) and a doctoral student at the Galilean School of Higher Studies. Abbiamo inaugurato la nuova Casa dello studente Fusinato! 🎉 La @scuola.galileiana ha una nuova sede: uno spazio storico riqualificato, accessibile e sostenibile dedicato alla vita universitaria, con aule studio, servizi e ambienti per la comunità. Due sale studio sono aperte anche a tutte le studentesse e gli studenti Unipd. “È uno spazio pensato per essere vissuto, attraversato, condiviso - spiega la rettrice Daniela Mapelli -. Accanto agli alloggi, ci sono spazi di studio, ambienti comuni, luoghi di relazione, riservati non solo a chi ci risiede, ma che sono pensati per tutta la comunità universitaria. Ed è un passaggio importante: perché dice molto chiaramente che l’Università non costruisce luoghi chiusi, ma luoghi aperti.” . . We’ve opened the new Fusinato Student Residence! 🎉 The Galilean School of Higher Education now has a new home: a restored historic space, accessible and sustainable, designed for student life, with study rooms, services and shared spaces for the community. Two study rooms are also open to all Unipd students. “It’s a space designed to be lived in, passed through and shared,” explains Rector Daniela Mapelli. “Alongside the accommodation, there are study areas, common spaces and places to connect, not only for residents but for the whole university community. And this is an important step: it clearly shows that the University doesn’t build closed spaces, but open ones.” @esudipadova
