As humans our power
lies in our ability to create
and recreate ourselves.
Why limit what we can be?
Fuller post to come...but I'm hugelyyy grateful for all the love in the room at our Bad Queer book launch at @thecommonpress last week. My heart is so so full ♥️

Such a genuinely filling three days in Edinburgh & Glasgow, taking Bad Queer on a little roadtrip 💓
Had a gorgeous conversation at @lighthousebks with @kaispellmeier and @andres_ordorica about the friendships that shape us as writers, writing queer parents + queer happy endings 💌
Thank you @categoryisbooks for instantly feeling like a home away from home.
A big big thank you also to @bookloversbookshop@edinburghpalms@qasba_gla + @dykenewsscotland for bringing pure vibessss + making me feel so looked after 🫶🏾 I will definitely be back in the summer xx
P.S. Had a euphoric moment getting @jfranceslock 's words drawn on me by @spruce.tattoos . 'She will need a stable boy' published by @14poems FILLS ME with a desire to live...especially in my more difficult, can't leave bed/ can't think about tomorrow days 🩵 Thank you for this fiercely gentle miracle x

This Thursday I’ll be chatting to @unembarrassable at KCL about their new book Bad Queer for ReproJam a new evening that we hope will raise spirits in this disheartening political time.
A night to inject joy into reproductive justice with Bad Queer poetry and Q&A
Reproductive rights are under attack and it’s a challenging to time be conducting research and working within the sector. ReproJam is a night aimed at those interested in reproductive rights, reproductive health and reproductive space to come together to jam, relax and network.
This is a free event at Kings College London. Food and drink will be provided . The link is in my bio!
Whilst writing Bad Queer, I was also thinking about the future possibility of having a child and what this child might call me.
It’s vital that we have more trans and queer parents in books because what we read/ consume forms the building blocks of our imaginations…of what we think is possible in our own lives. From the start of this process, I knew I was writing a trans parent into the heart of this story 💌
I feel like writing is a way of testing out possible futures and these words landed with me after a Tamil lesson with @thetamilchannel 🫶🏾 Thank you for this time to sit with our language together.
A huge thanks to @testing.ground.performance & @wearebardbooks for having me last month. The vibes are always 🔥🔥
This was such a special evening last week with the lovely Gayathiri Kamalakanthan @unembarrassable and @sabah.c in conversation about Gayathiri’s YA novel in verse BAD QUEER (@faberbooks )
They discussed their vulnerability in talking about identity as a queer person, the writing process (and coming into Pages to feel at home among the books 😍) representation of bodies in the novel, weaving their Tamil heritage into the novel what it was like telling their mum about the book, the importance for young people to be able to talk openly about their boundaries, their sexuality and pleasure.
Huge thanks to everyone for coming, if you missed the event, a full recording of this special conversation will be up soon! 💖
